Based on the pre-survey, the author found that some of the students paid less attention to affixes in argumentative writing. Then the problem that the author outlined in this research was largely about the analysis of affixes. Allah gave His gift to the writer that he could accomplish this research proposal.
The research was conducted on the argumentative writing performance of the students of the English Education Department of the State Institute for Islamic Studies.

As a result of the previous research that has been shown, the researcher wants to continue the research but with different ways. The students must know what the purpose and tension of the writing text is. It is not only about the meaning of the word, but also the word part of the word.
According to Valin, morphemes are "the smallest meaningful units in language."27 Not all morphemes are equally central to the information of a word. The researcher uses the documentation technique to get the data from the research situation. Based on the result of the data analysis above, it can be described that some affixes were found in the argumentative writing performance.
From the data analysis above, the writer obtained the frequency of additions commonly found in the argumentative writing product. The conclusion of the data analysis describes that the students have some additions that are used in writing the performance of argumentative writing.

Nowadays, in higher education, writing is the most dedicated, although it is considered a problematic skill for all writers. It starts from the beginning of what will write the topic to the publication of the writing. In determining the topic of the writing, writers must consider who the reader of the writing will be.
In addition, reading everyday books can make it easy for the writers to find ideas for their writing. Before the writers start to write well, they have to make a format of the writing and put the words down on paper.10 This step is often called essay. Revision makes the writers correct the product of writing in the reader's side who look forward to a perfect piece of writing13.
When the writers examine the product while writing next to their own place, the writers are asked to read and level the product by expecting themselves what the reader expects. It is important that the writers ask their friends to reread their writing in order to be properly checked.14 Harmer also argued that revision often happens. Moreover, this step challenges writers to see the writing of the product not only from their side as a writer, but also from the side of the reader who always expects the perfection of the writing.

Morphology is the study of word formation, including the ways in which new words are different depending on how they are used in sentences.22 Based on Loretto Todd, Morphology is a part of phonology and phonology has been described as the study of speech sounds and their patterns . From the explanations of the expert above, morphology is one of the main subjects that studies the shape/form of word. It has a variety of affixes to create a new type of word, as the base of word is a new variety of word.
A morpheme can consist of a word, such as hand, or another word that has the meaning of a full part of a word, such as usually the-ed of looked, which cannot be broken down into smaller ones. From the above explanation, a morpheme is the most important part of a word, from the bottom to the suffix of the word. They carry the basic meaning from the rest of the meaning of the word, which can be derived. 28.
Morphology is the study of the morpheme; the tool of study is looking at the character or type of morpheme itself. Usually the resulting word depends on a word of the same class as the original root. In the case of derivation, the morpheme is not only the creation or combination of the word itself, but also the meaning often changes.

The documentation was also intended to know how the researcher processed the result of the student's observation. It included preparing the data for analysis, organizing different analyses, understanding the data in depth, representing the data and interpreting the big meaning of the data62. These are the organization and preparation of the data, reading all the data, applying the coding process, describing, displaying and interpreting the data.
This activity aims to get the general overview of the information to reflect on its overall meaning. The change of status to IAIN would also encourage the formation of new faculties which would be born in accordance with the needs of society for education, as well as the development of facilities and infrastructure more appropriate to realize IAIN Metro for the better. The function of affixes was to make a new word or made a different meaning and position of the word.
Usually the result of the word was dependent on a word of the same class of the original root. With another word, as simple as prefix, is usually attached before the word. Research Setting
As an Islamic institute which was one of the favorite universities, IAIN Metro has visions and missions. Its vision was Become an innovative Islamic educational college in socio-eco-techno-preneurship synergy based on Islamic values and Indonesian. The establishment of IAIN could not be separated with the history of IAIN Raden Intan Bandar Lampung, which has begun from the efforts of elite and religious figures of Lampung Islamic Welfare Foundation (YKIL).
In the YKIL discussion, it was discussed about the realization of two facilities, the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Islamic Law, which were based in Tanjung Karang. Finally, realized the dream of the Lampung society to found IAIN Al-Jami'ah based on the Decree of Minwaster of Religious Affairs No. In 1993, IAIN Raden Intan Tanjung Karang was changed to IAIN Raden Intan Bandar Lampung.
Furthermore, in 1967, the Faculty of Education and Islamic Law was established in Metro City based on the request of the Metro community. Status of STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro to IAIN Jurai Siwo Metro has been proposed since 2010 and was planned to be realized in 2012 next year. The change of status to IAIN would also encourage the formation of faculties which were an amalgamation of two majors with 9 courses.
General description of research data
Data analysis
From data above, the researcher found fourteen word inflectional affects in the product used by respondent. In addition, the transformation of the base word to new word did not change the meaning, steam and root of the word itself. From data that showed researcher found 44 (forty four nominal suffixes) the researcher made percentage from the data and got 36%.
36% respondent used nominal affixes this was the large number that researcher found in each product of respondent and the meaning of nominal suffixes was often used to derive abstract from verb and nouns. There were twenty one kinds of nominal affixes and researcher took one of the respondents as the sample. Additional likes, ing, ment and ion that are almost used in the product of argumentative writing performance by respondent.
From data showing that the researcher found 14 (fourteen adjective suffixes), the researcher made a percentage of the data and got 11%. The meaning of adjective suffixes was divided into two main groups, relationship adjective and qualitative adjective, each of the main groups has a different role and way of deriving a word. What affixes are mostly used the argumentative writing of the students at the State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Metro.
Interpretation
It should be understood that this research was limited to only managing the analysis of students' use of supplements in their argumentative writing. Accordingly, the writer focused his research on the analysis of attachments and attachment types commonly found in a product. Accordingly, the limitation of this analysis focused on suffix types, which included inflectional suffixes, prefixes, adjectival suffixes, nominal suffixes, and adverbial suffixes.
The affixes that appear repeatedly are inflectional, adverbial suffixes, nominal suffixes, suffixes, adjectives, and prefixes. About argumentative writing, the students still didn't understand what's going on with argumentative writing, they still lacked writing skills. The result came from data that the researcher analyzed in chapter four. The students who do not understand affixes are supposed to enrich not only their writing comprehension by using affixes, but also writing performance to avoid the argumentative writing especially by using any type of affixes.
Meanwhile, the students who can write well, especially in the use of affixes in argumentative writing performance, are expected to maintain their comprehension. The teacher should provide a clear explanation of argumentative writing and the use of each type of affixes deeply, especially in the learning process to reduce students' unfamiliarity with the use of affixes in argumentative writing performance.
