We used the following diagnosis codes to identify hip fractures: ICD-8 820XX and ICD-10 S72.0, S72.1, and S72.2.

Disease categories and the International Classification of Diseases codes, the Eighth Revision (ICD-8) and the Tenth Revision (ICD-10) used to calculate the Charlson Comorbidity Index.
