ABSTRACT

Title : THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TEXT TWIST GAME ON

STUDENTS’ VOVABULARY MASTERY AT MTS SUTAN FATTAH SUKOSONO

This research was about the effectiveness of text twist game on students’ vocabulary mastery at MTs Sultan Fattah Sukosono in the academic 2022/2023. The purposed of this research to describe the effectiveness of text twist game on students’ vocabulary mastery at eight grade students of MTs Sultan Fattah Sukosono in academic 2022/2023.

The researcher used quantitative method. This research was a Pre experimental research by using one group pretest posttest design. The population was all eighth- grade students of MTs Sultan Fattah Sukosono. There were 20 students in academic 2022/2023. Because the size of population was petite so that the taking sample technique is total population sampling technique. The data collected through pretest, treatment, and posttest. After giving pretest and posttest, the researcher analyzed the data using SPSS to compute independent sample t-test.

sThe result of the analysis indicated that the mean of post-test score (72.25) was higher than the mean of pre-test score (55.8). So that Ha was accepted. It means, there was an improvement of students’ vocabulary mastery applied in speaking skill after giving treatment. Next, the researcher had computed that the score of tobtained >

ttable (6.875 > 2.093) and significant 2-tailed < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). So, Ha was accepted. It means that text twist game has an effectiveness to improve students’

vocabulary mastery applied in speaking skill at the eight-grade of MTs Sutan Fattah Sukosono in academic year 2022/2023.
