Emphasis was placed on improving the writing skills of the students through the use of the Mind Mapping method. Mind Mapping Method is one of the effective methods to improve the English writing skills of the second year students of SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Mariso. A teacher can manage the classroom so that the students can enjoy the teaching and learning process.

The mind mapping method helps students organize their ideas by placing key words as they appear and connecting them accordingly. In this research, the researcher aims to make it easier for students to express their ideas for writing through the method of mind mapping. Improving students' writing ability using mind mapping method in second year students of Smp Muhammadiyah 5 Mariso.

Significants of the Research

The research aims to find out whether the Mind Mapping method improves students' writing skills in terms of organization in the second year of Smp Muhammadiyah 5 Mariso. The research aims to find out whether or not the Mind Mapping method improves students' writing skills in terms of mechanics in the second year of Smp Muhammadiyah 5 Mariso.

Based on previous results above, the researcher had investigated the use of Mind Mapping Method to improve reading and vocabulary teaching. So the researcher wants to research to improve students' descriptive writing ability through Mind Mapping Method. Through Mind Mapping Method to write English technique will be more interesting and entertaining for students. It is expected that the content of the writing will be clear and comprehensible to the readers.

States in the organization of writing concern the writer's way of organizing the ideas or messages in the writing. The use of favorable mechanics in writing will make the readers easy for the group to convey ideas or written message. According to Wrede (2002:11), Mind Mapping is a powerful technique to provide a key to unlock the brain's potential.

Input refers to the use of instructional material that will be used to teach writing in the classroom. The process refers to the process of teaching and learning writing during classroom interaction using the mind mapping method.

The instrument of this research was a written test where the researcher administered the test as a pretest and posttest. The purpose of the pre-test was to determine the basic knowledge of the students and their writing ability, while the purpose of the post-test was to determine the writing ability of the students after the examination. The test was the same as the pre-test, in which the students were given three titles of the narrative text, namely: favorite movie, favorite food and your daily activity.

Assessment of students' correct answers of pre-test and post-test using this formula. Find the significant difference between the mean scores of pre-test and post-test by calculating the value of t-test using the following formula. The improvement of students' writing skills in terms of organization In order to answer the research question in the previous chapter, the writer administered a test which is given twice to the students.

To answer the research question in the previous chapter, the writer administered a test which is given twice to the students. The result of the students' skills in mechanics, whose indicators punctuation and spelling on the pre- and post-test were presented in the table below:.

The T-est Value of The Student’s mechanics And Organization in Writing by Using Mind Mapping Method

The result of the t-test data analysis of the student's written content and organization by the Key Map Method is shown in the table below. Table 3 above shows that the test value is higher than the t table value.

It was noted that there is a significant difference between the score of students' organization and writing mechanics using the mind mapping method after treatment.

Discussions

The improvement of students' writing skills in terms of mechanics Based on the finding above in the application of feedback strategy in the class, the data collected through the test as explained in the previous findings section, shows that the students' writing skills internally mechanics has improved significantly. The score of the students' post-test is higher than the average score of the students' pre-test. This means that mind mapping method can improve the students' writing skills in terms of organization.

This means that the mind mapping method can improve students' writing skills in terms of mechanics. So, the writer concludes that there has been significant improvement in the improvement of students' writing skills by the method of mind mapping in the second year students of SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 5 MARISO.
