Students' Perception of Using Google Classroom in Language Learning (Descriptive Research in the 5th Semester of English Education Department, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar), Supervised by Bahrun Amin and Radiah. Thesis Department of English, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. The purpose of this research is to find out the students' perception of the use of Google Classroom in language learning, especially the ease of use of Google Classroom and the performance of Google Classroom in language learning in the 5th semester of the Department of English Education Muhammadiyah University of .

The research subject was 30 students of C class of English Education Department Muhammadiyah University of Makassar 2016. Based on the research results and discussion, it could be concluded that the students' perception of using Google Classroom has responded positively. Most of the students agreed with the ease of using Google Classroom and the performance of Google Classroom in language learning because Google Classroom allows the students to store and get tasks or assignments, information or. The researcher realizes that since the preparation of the study to the outcome of this study, there have been many difficulties and challenges, but due to the blessing of Allah Almighty and the guidance of various parties, all the difficulties and challenges can be overcome.

Siti Mariam for having with love and patience and compassion brought up and educated the researcher and ceaselessly prays for the author's success and happiness, also to the beloved sister and brother Putri Intan Pharaswari and Muhammad Antasari Aryansyah who always help and never stop giving encouragement to the researcher. Google Classroom is used as a media for learning to interest the students in the learning process, thus helping students to increase the result of their study. Related to the statement above, the researcher conducted observation and interviews with the students of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar, especially students of the English Education Department who used Google Classroom application in learning. The students can easily access the material and do the assignment without using paper, they just send their assignment through Google Classroom.

Based on the background, the researcher conducts the research titled:Students Perception on the Use of Google Classroom in Language Learning in the fifth semester of English Education Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. What is the students' perception of the use of Google Classroom in language learning in the fifth semester of English education Muhammadiyah University of Makassar?”. Based on the research problem above, the researcher stated that the purpose of the research is to find out the students' perception of the use of Google Classroom in language learning in the fifth semester of English education Muhammadiyah University of Makassar.

The results of this research provide new knowledge and as a reference about students' perceptions of using Google Classroom in language learning, and also provide readers with knowledge about students' acceptance of the ease of use of Google Classroom and the effectiveness of Google Classroom in support language. learning. The scope of the research is limited to the ease of use of Google Classroom and the effectiveness of Google Classroom in language learning to support students in learning English in their learning process in the fifth semester of English education of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar.

According to Citra (2016), Google Classroom is one of the features provided by Google for teaching and learning activities in the classroom. This is a very effective way to distribute learning materials to students and one of the most useful features of Google Classroom. Google Classroom automatically creates an assignment calendar for students and teachers to remind them when assignments are due.

Moreover, the features of Google Classroom make it easy for students to learn and help teachers to manage their class in learning process. Google Classroom also makes it easy for students and teachers to connect inside and outside the school. There are new features of Google Classroom according to Bahar (2017) as follows: 1) Single View, teachers and students can see the status of the assignment sent, lost tasks or tasks assessed and returned; 2) Class preparation, the teacher can organize the class according to the class criteria; 3) Decimal grading, teachers will be able to easily use assessment that requires high accuracy, for example the use of decimals in assessment; 4) Change the owner of the classroom, the teacher can change the classroom or give their class to another teacher without making new class.

Google Classroom can be accessed from any computer via Google Chrome or from any mobile device, regardless of platform. Google Classroom is accessible from anywhere, teachers have more free time to perform other tasks. Google Classroom can be accessed from a mobile device, teachers and students can participate via their phones or tablets.

Additionally, Google Classroom indirectly teaches students to be more disciplined in learning with a calendar feature that reminds deadlines for each task. Based on the Google website in Afrianti (2018), Google Classroom offers some advantages: The classroom can be easily prepared. It is a proof that Google Classroom is eco-friendly because using Google Classroom during assignments helps students learn and complete their assignment without wasting paper.

If the learning process in the real classroom is not completed, the teacher can continue the learning process in the Google Classroom discussion room. One of the main reasons that Google Classroom cannot yet fully replace a learning management system is that it does not provide automated quizzes and tests for students. In general, Google Classroom is better suited for a blended learning experience than a fully online program.

The research findings present the result of students' perception of using Google Classroom in language learning. The researcher used the questionnaire to know the students' perception of using Google Classroom in language learning. Based on the above findings, the use of Google Classroom has had a good response from students.

Students Acceptance of Easiness of Google Classroom

Performance of Google Classroom

Average students' acceptance of the ease of Google Classroom showed that most of the students (68.78%) on agree opinion, most students (7.87%) on neutral opinion and other students (23.02%) on disagree opinion .

Discussion

The process is related to the implementation of Google Classroom to implement language learning and technology related to the choice of system and means of their use. The result of data analysis for the students' acceptance of the ease of Google Classroom was obtained on the majority of students who agreed with the ease of Google Classroom in language learning. This means that from the questions about students' acceptance of the ease of Google Classroom in language learning in the questionnaire, students agreed and got good answers to it.

Performance relates to the appearance, operation and facilities provided by the Google Classroom for users. The performance of Google Classroom can therefore make it easier for students to carry out the language learning process. The result of data analysis for performance of Google Classroom was obtained on most students who agreed with performance of Google Classroom in language learning.

The Google Classroom performance indicator showed that most students (91.11%) agreed and other students (8.89%) disagreed with the perceptions. Therefore, the result showed that students agree to use Google Classroom in language learning, so Google Classroom can be used as a medium in language learning. In this research, the researcher focused on the acceptance of the ease of Google Classroom and the effectiveness of Google Classroom.

Pengaruh tools Google Classroom pada model pembelajaran berbasis proyek terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Efektivitas komunikasi media online Google Classroom untuk menunjang proses belajar mengajar di Teknik Sipil Universitas Riau.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Suggestion

In this study, most of the students of C Class of 2016 English Education Department Muhammadiyah University of Makassar agreed that Google Classroom is good to use as a media in learning. It will be better for the teachers if in addition to using Google Classroom as a learning medium, teachers should also use the other learning media and collaborate with Google Classroom to achieve a better learning process. It will be better for the students if students use the facilities of Google Classroom properly in learning so that the students can improve their knowledge and skills in language learning.

For the next researcher, it is better if the next researcher focuses on other case of Google Classroom in language learning and use this research as a preference to learn more about Google Classroom in language learning as a medium of learning.
