The objective of teaching reading comprehension is to make students more able to understand the text. In addition, students are expected to be able to find the main message in the text. Students are expected to be able to find ideas from different parts of the text they have read.

Students are expected to be able to understand a text by relating events in the text to events in their real life. However, in reality, students find it difficult to understand a text in a reading book because they have limited reading comprehension skills. It means that reading in chorus is an activity when the students and the teacher read aloud together from the same text at the same time.

When students have a lot of vocabulary, it will make it easier for them to understand the text. For this research, the researcher applied the choral reading method to help students improve their reading comprehension.

LITERATURE REVIEW

Previous of Related Findings

The purpose of her research is to find out if the choral reading method is effective in improving students' reading comprehension. The result of this research is that students' reading comprehension improved after they were taught using the choral reading method. The reader constructs the text from the smallest units (letters to words to sentence to sentence, etc.) and that the process of constructing the text from these units becomes so automatic that the readers are not aware of how it works. c) The interactive model.

The researcher focused on improving students' reading comprehension, especially finding main idea and supporting idea in reading text using choral reading methods. The output of this research is therefore to find out the implementation of choral reading method to improve students' reading comprehension. In this research, the researcher used reading comprehension test to know the score of the students' reading comprehension.

The purpose of this research was to find out if there is an improvement in students' reading comprehension after using the Choral Reading Method. It indicates that the application of Choral Reading Method is significant in improving students' reading comprehension of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 3 Sungguminasa. Based on the results, students' reading comprehension in terms of understanding the main idea and supporting idea of ​​English text was significantly improved after choral reading method was used.

Before cycle 1 started, the diagnostic test was given to the students to teach the students reading comprehension in the English class. P = the improvement of the students X1 = the average score of the post-test X2 = the average score of the pre-test. The table above shows that the average score of the students' main idea in the reading D test was 64.25.

The above table showed that the mean score of students' supporting idea in the reading D-test was 48.5. In this study, students' final reading comprehension improvement is calculated by combining students' literal comprehension. Overall assessment of students' reading comprehension in II. cycle was 162.5, and the average grade was 81.25.

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Findings

The above table shows that the average score of the D-test was 64.25, it improves to be 72.5 in cycle I, and then in cycle II the average score was 91. In cycle II, there are no students who become fair, bad and very bad score. From the whole result of the students' literal understanding, which is presented in the table above, the improvement of the students' reading.

Discussion

The description of the previous section showed that the students' reading comprehension was effective and could improve, this was supported by the frequency, rate percentage and students' total score before and after using the choral reading method. The result of table 4.4 showed that the total score of students from cycle I was higher than the total score of the students from D-test and cycle I. First, Deni Ismayanti (2017) that the application of choral reading method on the students' understanding in reading narrated text was more meaningful.

Her research found using choral reading method can help the students to understand the text easily. From the discussion above, it can be concluded that the use of the choral reading method was effective in teaching reading comprehension to the seventh grade students of SMPN 3 Sungguminasa significantly improved after implementing choral reading method as the method in learning. Based on the analysis data, research findings and discussion in the previous chapter, the researcher concluded that choral reading method is effective in teaching reading comprehension to the seventh grade students of SMPN 3 Sungguminasa in the academic year 2020/2021.

It is suggested that the choir reading method be used as an alternative to other teaching methods that can be used in teaching reading comprehension. Effect of choral, repeated, and assisted reading strategies on poor readers' reading and literacy skills. The effect of applying the choral reading method on the students' comprehension when reading retelling text.

What do models of reading comprehension and its development contribute to comprehension teaching and assessment for young people. CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Conclusion

This statement was supported by the results of the students' results, which mostly improve from the first cycle and the second cycle after the treatment. This can be proven by the improvement in the result of test D, cycle I and cycle II.

Suggestion

Menangkap makna secara kontekstual berkaitan dengan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan dalam teks deskriptif lisan dan tulis sangat pendek dan sederhana tentang orang, hewan, dan benda. Siswa dapat mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial dan unsur kebahasaan ungkapan untuk menyatakan dan bertanya tentang gambaran orang, hewan, dan benda secara singkat dan sederhana sesuai konteks dengan baik dan benar. Siswa mampu menyatakan dan meminta gambaran singkat dan sederhana tentang orang, hewan, dan benda dalam kaitannya dengan konteks dengan baik dan benar.

Siswa mampu merespon ungkapan mengucapkan dan bertanya tentang gambaran orang, binatang, dan benda secara singkat dan sederhana, dalam kaitannya dengan konteks dengan baik dan benar. Siswa dapat memahami makna secara kontekstual ditinjau dari fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan dalam teks deskriptif lisan dan tulis, sangat pendek dan sederhana, berkaitan dengan orang, hewan, dan benda dengan baik dan benar. Siswa dapat menyusun teks deskriptif lisan dan tulis, sangat pendek dan sederhana, berkaitan dengan orang, hewan, dan benda, dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan, dengan baik dan sesuai konteks dengan baik dan benar.

Menangkap makna secara kontekstual berkaitan dengan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks deskriptif lisan dan tulis sangat pendek dan sederhana yang berkaitan dengan orang, hewan, dan benda. Siswa dapat mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial dan unsur kebahasaan ungkapan mengungkapkan dan bertanya tentang gambaran orang, hewan, dan benda secara singkat dan sederhana sesuai konteks dengan benar dan akurat. Menangkap makna secara kontekstual berkaitan dengan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks deskriptif lisan dan tulis sangat pendek dan sederhana yang berkaitan dengan orang, hewan, dan benda.
