USING INTRA-ACTOR STRATEGY IN IMPROVING THE READING COMPREHENSION ABILITY OF TENTH GRADE STUDENTS IN SMAN 1 BATANGHARI. Moreover, from the students' activities in cycle 2, it can be reported that (a) 21 students pay attention to the teacher's explanation (89%), 16 students ask/answer questions (59%), 22 students were active in the group ( 81%). , 19 students were able to perform the task (70%). This result also concluded that the interactive strategy was able to improve students' reading comprehension.

Background of study

Furthermore, the researcher had investigated the students' reading problems by conducting a preliminary study at SMAN 1 Batanghari. Therefore, the researcher proposes a research proposal entitled "THE USE OF INTRA-ACT STRATEGY TO IMPROVE STUDENTS' READING COMPREHENSION AMONG TENTH GRADE AT SMAN 1 BATANGHARI".

Problem Identification

Based on the entire description above, the ability of students of the tenth grade at SMAN 1 Batanghari through the implementation of intra-deed strategy. In this case, the researcher will conduct classroom action research to improve students' reading comprehension ability by implementing intra-action strategies.

Problem Limitation

Problem Formulation

According to Dennis, there are some factors that affect reading comprehension:11 .. a) The complexity of the texts. Then students must decide whether they agree or disagree with each statement. e) The fourth step is reflection. Then the students have to decide whether they agree or disagree with each statement. e) The fourth step is reflective.

The researcher introduces an analytical expository text to the students entitled "The use of formalin and other dangerous preservatives in food". The researcher introduces an analytical expository text to the students entitled "The Meaning of Breakfast". The last, the researcher asked the team leader group 5, Thomas also answered "the summary of the text, breakfast provides energy needs for our daily activity".

The researcher presents an analytical expository text for students with the title "The Importance of Reading". The researcher then asked the group leader 5 and Septi replied: "The summary I got from the text above is that reading can make us awake and relaxed."

  • The Implementation of Intra-Act Strategy

Intra act strategy is very beneficial for students when the reading material is quite difficult.21. The implementation of the Intra-Act strategy can be carried out by a number of following steps as follows:23.

Action Hypothesis

An independent variable is a variable that is assumed to have an effect on another variable (a dependent variable). strategy. The subject of this action research is the students of X IPA 3 in SMAN 1 Batanghari, they consist of 27 students. The object of this research is the reading comprehension ability of tenth grade students in SMAN 1 Batanghari. The team leader is then encouraged to remind others to contribute to the discussion. d) The third step is evaluation.

Then the researcher also asked the team leader group 4 and group 5, Vona and Viona also answered "the summary of the text, formalin is a very dangerous mist, because flies and other insects just don't want to land on foods that contain formaldehyde". Then the students have to decide whether they agree with each statement or not. The first must write their group name one, two or three and who the team leader is. After that, the researcher appoints a team leader. The team leader in group 1 is Abel, group 2 is Abi, group 3 is Heni, group 4 is Rachel and group 5 is Septi.

After the team leader explained what they got from the text, the next step would be the students taking turns sharing their opinion and views from the text. The researcher has several questions on the board such as "reading is important. Based on the result above, the researcher says indicated that the learning process in cycle II was successful because the students' “We help reduce the amount of global warming" (paragraph 2) The word reduce can be replaced by.

Research Location

Subject and Object of Study

Action Plan

Based on the statement above, the researcher can say that classroom action research is one of the efforts made by the teacher to improve the quality of learning in a learning process by using or combining new methods, techniques or strategies. In this phase, the researcher acts as the teacher and the actual teacher becomes the observer.

Data Collecting Technique

The pre-test of this research will be in the form of a multiple-choice reading comprehension test that requires students to choose the correct answer. The post-test of this research will be in the form of a multiple-choice reading comprehension test that requires students to select the correct answer.

Data Collecting Instrument

In this research, the researcher will use field notes to focus on a particular issue or teaching behavior over a period of time. Furthermore, the researcher will take field notes related to the classroom situation, classroom management, classroom interaction between teacher and students or students with students and etc.

Data Analysis Technique

If from cycle 1, there are some unsuccessful students, so the researcher would conduct cycle II. The minimum cycle in CAR is two cycles if from cycle II the students have been successful, the cycle can only be stopped until cycle II.

Indicator of success

Moreover, to know the result, the researcher would compare between pre-test and post-test. Based on the result of the observation sheet in cycle II, the researcher showed that the learning process in cycle II was successful.

RESULT OF THE RESEARCH

Research Setting

Then the researcher asked team leader group 2 and Cindy replied "so miss, the summary of the text, breakfast can improve the health of the digestive system". Then the researcher asked group 3 team leader and Ilfina replied "breakfast can improve memory and concentration levels". After they discuss using the questions on the board, the researcher divides the.

The researcher also planned to provide an evaluation to measure the students' mastery over the materials given. The researcher began to greet the class, pray, check the attendance list, and ask the students' condition. Then the researcher asked team leader group 2 and Gita replied "so miss, the summary of the text, smoking in restaurant is harmful to others".

The researcher began to greet the class, pray, check the attendance list, and ask the students' condition.

Interpretation

In this research, the researcher conducted the post-test I to know the students' reading comprehension ability after the implementation of the treatment. It could be seen that the grade of the students in post-test II was different. The comparison of pre-test, post-test I in cycle I and post-test II in cycle II.

The frequency of students' pre-test, post-test I grade in cycle I and post-test II grade in cycle II. The percentage of students in pre-test, post-test I in cycle I and post-test II in cycle I. It is supported by improving the grade of students from pre-test to post-test I and from post-test I to posttest II.

There was significant improvement in students' learning product from pre-test to post-test II.

The Result Of Students Learning

Comparison Of Score In Pre-Test, Post-Test I In Cycle I,

The Result Of Students‟ Learning Activities In Cycle I

The students' learning activity data were obtained from all the students' learning activities on observation sheets. Students' attention to the teacher's explanation improved from the first session to the next session. b) To ask/answer questions from the teacher. The students who asked/answered questions from the teacher improved from the first meeting to the next meeting.

Based on the result of the preliminary study, it can be inferred that there was an improvement in the average grade and the total of the students who passed the test from pretest, posttest I to posttest II. From the explanation, the researcher concluded that the research was successful and that it could be stopped in cycle II because the indicator of success 70% of students scored 70 was achieved.

Discussion

Moreover, in post-test I there were 17 students or (63%) passed the test, indicating that students get a grade >70 with an average of 66. Meanwhile, in post-test II there were 21 students or (78%) passed it. test the indicator that the students get a grade>70 with an average of 73. From the explanation, the researcher concludes that the research is successful and can be stopped in cycle II because the success indicator has been reached 70% of the students got a grade>70.

This could be seen in the average percentage of learning activity in cycle I was 59% and the average percentage of learning activity in cycle II was 77%. It is suggested to the students to be more active in the learning process in the class and increase their skill in reading comprehension so that they can achieve success in learning English. Firstly, by reading we can get a lot of knowledge about many things in the world like Science, technology.

Second, pests can gradually become resistant to pesticides. paragraph 3) The word resistant in the above sentence means.
