DoTALINE ELIZABETH ALLEN, Director* Department of Nursing Education and Assistant Professor of Nursing Education. Faculty members from other schools and departments of the university collaborate by teaching courses in their respective fields, which are required for students in the nursing department. The School of Education's Division of Nursing Education offers nursing curricula for graduate nurses leading to the Bachelor of Science in Education degree and to the Master of Science in Education degree.

All courses (general education and nursing education) completed at the Indianapolis Downtown Center beginning in the fall semester will count toward credit toward the residency requirements for the degree, providing students are enrolled in the Division of Nursing Education. Currently the Division of Nursing Education is a separate division in the School of Education, and has the same autonomy as departments in other schools of the University. At the time of transition to the approved list of this Service (1949), the Division of Nursing Education held membership in the Association of Collegiate Schools of Nursing and was accredited by the National Public Health Nursing Organization.

The overall objective of the Department of Nursing Education is to develop professional nursing education in its spiritual, educational and social aspects to the highest degree, in accordance with the best traditions and modern standards of nursing. All Nursing Education students pay $4 for exams in the first semester they are enrolled in the Department of Nursing Education. Application for field experience should be made on a blank form, which can be obtained from the office of the Department of Nurse Education.

The Division of Nursing Education Faculty or such persons as it may designate shall be the sole judge of whether the student has complied with these provisions.
