North Tomohon has the highest number of tourist attractions ranging from natural, cultural and religious tourist attractions. To date, there are few development policies in such villages that enable competitive and sustainable tourism development. The development of tourism in Tomohon provides an important example of the harmonious development between economic and environmental conservation in the highland environment.

The spatial development of tourism in Tomohon therefore needs basic consideration of the hydrological aspect. Other issues related to the development of a tourist destination in Tomohon are related to the local population. The development of tourism in Tomohon should be able to provide new opportunities for jobs and other local economic activities.

The researchers emphasize that the development of tourism should be able to give a positive impact on the local community, both socially and economically. However, in many cases there are examples of the small contribution of tourism to the local community [11]. Tourism stakeholders, especially businessmen, usually differ in their belief, reasons and background for tourism development.

The recent rapid growth of the global tourism sector contributes to the rapid development of tourism in the Tomohon area. Therefore, the development of tourism potential in Tomohon requires a comprehensive research of the basic natural and cultural resources, the distribution of the potential in the context of the spatial aspect and a design for the conversion of potential resources into an actual tourism product.

The Strategy for Ecotourism Development in Plantation Area

A Case Study from Kalibendo Plantation, Banyuwangi East Java

There are also tour packages available that cover Mount Ijen and Kalibendo tourist facilities could be an alternative after offering Ijen Crater. The more often the tourist facilities are visited, means that the tourist facilities are attractive.
