Understanding Bird Preference on Agroforestry System: Is There a Potential Case for Birdwatching Development?

On the other hand, the agro-forestry system, which used the ethno-conservation system, presented a smaller habitat contrast between the fig grove and the agro-forestry area. The agroforestry area combines a perennial habitat prone to shade and consisting of vegetables [12]. A tall tree is suitable for a Javan vulture to perch and hunt its prey, such as a rodent among vegetable farms. Agroforestry area has more potential as a birdwatching facility compared to conventional agriculture and house area.

Evaluating Environmental Service of Trisula Waterfall as Nature-based Tourism Attraction in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park

Evaluation of the environmental service of the Trisula waterfall as a natural tourist attraction in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Trisula waterfall (Coban Trisula), located in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park at an altitude of about m. According to the national park document relating to the management of the national park area, the Trisula waterfall is part of the management of the national park resort with an area of approximately 5,222.75 ha (Figure 2).

The working area of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park was used to assess and measure a wide area of the Trisula waterfall managed by RPTN Coban Trisula. A contour map in QGIS was used to determine the elevation for a specific area of Trisula Falls. From the Google map images, the Trisula waterfall area was covered with high intensity tropical tree canopy.

Tree density in Trisula Falls was observed higher than in upper and lower areas. The evaluation of environmental services confirms that the upper and Trisula waterfall point was classified as secondary forest with a score of 1.5 (Fig. 2) (Table 1). The carbon sequestration index was 0.7 indicating that the carbon stock in the Trisula waterfall was better than in the downstream area.

The condition of Trisula Waterfall can be classified as quasi-natural, with water depleted to meet the ideal condition due to deforestation <50% [20].

Resources of Boti Village (Timor Island) for the Ecotourism Development

The research was conducted from January to October 2015 in the Dayak Seberuang settlement areas in West Kalimantan province, Indonesia. The results of the SWOT analysis showed that IFAS and EFAS scored in the range, which means that the lowland Nepenthes conservation strategies in the Dayak Seberuang settlement area are in the growth phase to improve the Nepenthes population. This study took place in the settlement area of the Dayak Seberuang community, which is one of the traditional communities in West Kalimantan province, Indonesia [6].

The conservation strategy of Nepenthes, especially in the Dayak Seberuang settlement area, depends on the habitat where Nepenthes lives, not just on the species itself. This habitat preference may contribute to the regulation of lowland Nepenthes conservation strategy, especially in the Dayak Seberuang settlement area. Otherwise, the degradation of culture in the young generation of Dayak Seberuang people is the highest score of weakness factor with a score of 0.893 (Table 3).

The combination of internal and external factors showed that the lowland Nepenthes conservation strategy in the settlement area of Dayak Seberuang people is in a growth phase, with ratio (Fig. 3). Local community, local government and tourism planners have expressed concerns about Nepenthes as the flagship species for tourism in Dayak Seberuang in West Kalimantan. It is based on the importance of Nepenthe in the daily lives of the local people in Dayak Seberuang.

The perception of people with IFAS and EFAS score within range means that the conservation strategies of the lowland Nepenthes in Dayak Seberuang settlement area are in a growth phase to improve the Nepenthes population.

In the study, the objective of the SWOT analysis was to identify internal and external factors that had a direct impact on tourist destinations. The variables included in the SWOT analysis were those related to the internal and external factors of tourist destinations.

Other components of the data analysis were the internal strategic factor (IFAS) and the external strategic factor (EFAS). The steps of the IFAS-EFAS analysis were to weigh the factors after carrying out the SWOT analysis. Based on the EFAS analysis (Table 4), the result of multiplying the weights and the opportunity score was higher than the hazard score.

Therefore, the opportunities related to tourism in Kediri should be explored to the fullest as it would improve the quality of tourism destination in the area.
