PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT RANGGU MANGGARAI BARAT FLORES NTT TERHADAP BUDAYA PESTA SEKOLAH SEBAGAI UPAYA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mendeskripsikan persepsi orang tua di Ranggu Manggarai Barat Flores NTT terhadap budaya pesta sekolah sebagai upaya penggalangan dana pendidikan; 2) mendeskripsikan persepsi mahasiswa Ranggu Manggarai Barat Flores NTT terhadap budaya pesta sekolah sebagai upaya penggalangan dana pendidikan; 3) mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi lahirnya budaya pesta sekolah pada masyarakat Ranggu Manggarai Barat Flores NTT; dan 4) mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang mepemngaruhi keberhasilan pesta sekolah.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Ranggu yakni kepala adat, dua orang tua yang pernah menyelenggarakan pesta sekolah dan dua mahasiswa yang pernah menyelenggarakan pesta sekolah. Pengolahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif.
Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa: 1) persepsi orang tua terhadap budaya pesta sekolah sebagai upaya penggalangan dana pendidikan positif (bermanfaat dalam mengatasi kesulitan biaya pendidikan); 2) persepsi mahasiswa terhadap budaya pesta sekolah sebagai upaya penggalangan dana pendidikan positif (bermanfaat dalam mengatasi kesulitan biaya pendidikan); 3) faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi lahirnya pesta sekolah ada dua yakni keterbatasan ekonomi dan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pendidikan; dan 4) faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan pesta sekolah ada enam, yakni relasi sosial yang baik dari tuan pesta, partisipasi aktif dalam setiap rangkaian acara pesta sekolah, cuaca yang baik, musim panen, “manajemen dapur” dan protokol (MC) dalam acara pesta sekolah.

This research was aimed to: 1) describe the perception of parent in Ranggu West Manggarai Flores NTT on the practice of “school party”as a fundraising efforts for education; 2). describe the perception of university students in Ranggu West Manggarai Flores NTT on the practice of “school party”as a fundraising efforts for education; 3) describe factors caused the practice of “school party” exist in comunity of Ranggu West Manggarai Flores NTT and 4) describe factors caused the success of school party.
This research was concerned adds a filed research (study case) used qualitative approach. The participant of the study was the community of Ranggu including the customary head, and two person in the community who conducted
“school party”. The data analysis technique descriptive qualitative method.
The results of data analysis can be seen as follow: 1) the response of the comunity about the practice of “school party” as a fundraising efforts for education is positive (useful in overcoming the difficulties of educational fee); 2) the response of university students about the practice of “school party” as a fundraising efforts for education is positive (useful in overcoming the difficulties of educational fee; 3) factors that caused the practice of “school party” are economy condition and the consciousness of comunity about the importance of education; 4) factors that caused the succes of “school party” are social relation of the event creator, the participation of the event creator in every “school party” practice, weather condition, harvest season, “kitchen management”, as well as the master of ceremony in “school party” event.
