Canonsburg Alfred University.
Prof. Binns Dear Sir,
I am all settled in Canonsburg. Monday I start in work in the clay shops, at finishing. I will be on piecework but think that I can make enough to pay expenses even at the start.
Mr. George has given me a chance and I have no doubt but what I can make good.
I have had all the fun I want and need for some time to come. The past year has been the most pleasant and as well the most profitable of the four. I hope I showed to you that I could accomplish something when I was in ernest.
I was sorry for your sake that I let things slide a little during the last few weeks, but can not say that I regret it. I did so with my eyes open. Now I am ready to buckle down for good.
I appreciate all you have done for me and realize that you have done much. Many things I have heard from other people and I thank you for them all.
There will be many points of interest and many where I will need some help from you.
Hoping that school next year will go even more smoothly than last year and be more successful.
I remain
Very sincerely Your pupil
Guy.
