Coverage

Renovations, more public seating and group study spaces have meant that reference collections have shrunk. It is important to keep some classic titles in reference and this resource includes some older titles that should be kept.

Approaching This Guide

Patrons of public libraries, undergraduates, and even graduate students will turn to the Internet and find information quickly and easily, but not necessarily scientific or accurate. Together, these changes mean that Reference Resources for Small and Medium-sized Libraries remains a valuable guide for reference librarians, collection development librarians, and library students.

Acknowledgments

Some of the titles are also suitable for the circulation of collections, for example items from the craft or household chapters. This chapter differs from the other chapters in this book because of its content.

The revised edition includes 294 new books and more than 600 collected books that portray girls in a positive light. OCLC's WorldCat is "the world's largest network of library content and services," offering access to more than a billion items in 10,000 libraries worldwide.
