Indianapolis, November 5th, 1882
Sixteenth year, sixth regular business meeting. The meeting was called to order by the president, last meeting’s minutes were read and approved.
New business:
It was approved that the committee hiring the musicians will have 55 thaler, 1/8 of a beer measure and soup as their reimbursement. Also, it was approved that Niemeier’s wife will act as his financial liability and so she will co-sign the documents. Additionally, it was put out for discussion that new candidates pay 5 to 10 thaler new members’ dues and in the case of death the family receive 50 to 75 thaler; also, no member shall borrow more than 200 thaler from the Society. When a member is over 60 years old he is not obliged to follow the coffin at a funeral.
Each member can go to the ball for free and must turn in his ticket at the next meeting. Henrich Weghorst, Wiyam Wischmeier and Christ Hebele were instructed to take care of the newspaper printing and procuring of ball tickets. Phielip Ott, Christ Hoepert and John C. Sturtz were
appointed to man the cash register. Hemton Schönemann, Challi Freund, Davied Fischer and Gortz Müller were directed to be in front of the entrance. Christ Chjervele will order police watch. Christ V. Lentz will be in charge of the room and music.
At this point the meeting was adjourned.
