This course is a compulsory course and offered in the 5th semester (odd semester)

Type of teaching, contact hours

Teaching methods used in this course are:

1. Lecture (i.e., group investigation, small group discussion, case study, and video based learning)

2. Structured assignments (i.e., essays and case study)

The class size for lecture is 30 students.

Contact hours for lecture is 27 hours, assignments (structured tasks) is 32 hours and study independently 32 hours

Workload For this course, students are required to meet a minimum of 87 hours in one semester, which consist of :

23 hours for lecture

32 hours for structured assignments 32 hours for study independently

Credit points 2 credit points (equivalent with 3 ECTS) Requirements

according to the examination regulations

Students must have attended all classes and submitted all class assignments that are scheduled before the final tests.

Recommended prerequisites

Electrical Power Distribution course is a continuation of the Transformator (Transformer) course, so that students have completed the the Transformator (Transformer) and obtained a

minimum grade of C which is a prerequisite to be able to take the Electrical Power Distribution course

After completing the course and given with this case:

Course Learning Objectives (CLO ):

1. Analyzing the characteristics of electrical energy, especially in the distribution of electric power (20)

2. Analyzing power flow and safety systems in electric power distribution (20)

3. Identifying the types and configurations, as well as the disconnecting and disconnecting equipment of the electric power distribution (25)

Implementing SCADA system in electric power distribution (35)

Content Students will learn about:

provide knowledge about the introduction to distribution systems, distribution system networks which include substations, distribution transformers, primary networks, secondary networks, types of distribution system configurations, conductor size calculations, distribution transformer capacities, distribution system lightning protection, breaker and separator equipment, concepts distribution system power flow, calculation of voltage drop and losses, load characteristics, application of capacitors in distribution systems, voltage regulation in distribution systems, network maneuvering, protection concepts in distribution networks, reliability index of SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI and ENS, SCADA architecture, SCADA equipment.

Forms of Assessment Assessment is carried out based on written examinations, assessment/evaluation of the learning process and performance with the following components: Structured tasks: 40% ; Mid Test : 25% ; Final Test: 30% ; Presence: 5%

Study and examination requirements:

- Students must attend 15 minutes before the class starts.

- Students must switch off all electronic devices.

- Students must inform the lecturer if they will not attend the class due to sickness, etc.

- Students must submit all class assignments before the deadline.

- Students must attend the exam to get final grade.

-Written exam: Essay -Portofolio
