Judul Skripsi : The Effectiveness of Using Cartoon Picture to Improve Students' Writing Narrative Text to the Eleventh Grade at SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung. Judul Skripsi : Effectiveness of Using Cartoon Pictures to Improve Narrative Text Writing of Students up to Grade Eleven at SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung (Quasi-Experimental Research)”. Narrative Text Writing by Grade Eleven at SMA MUHAMMADIYAH LIMBUNG (Quasi-Experimental Research).

The objective of the study is to find out whether the use of cartoons in writing narrative text is effective or not in terms of organization, logical idea development and grammar. The population of this research was the eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung in the academic year 2017/2018. Based on the result of t-test, the researcher found that the use of cartoon drawing strategy in improving students' writing skills in the eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung, improves students' writing skills and improves significantly.

However, the researchers hope that this dissertation can contribute to future research into the English teaching and learning process.

Based on my experience while teaching at MA Muallimin Muhammadiah Makassar, many students who don't like to learn English, especially in writing texts, almost every student gets bored and unmotivated when learning English, moreover, when they are given writing assignment, many of them they just copy paste the work of their friends. Based on the above problems, the writer proposed the sequence of cartoon figures to improve students' writing skills, especially in writing narrative text. For these reasons, it is necessary to make an effort to improve writing skills in narrative text using the sequence of cartoon figures.

Based on the above phenomena, this study aims to answer the following question: Does the use of cartoon images improve students' writing skills on narrative text among the eleventh grade students of SMA Muhammadiah Limbung. To find out whether or not the use of Cartoon Picture is effective in writing narrative texts in second grade students of SMA Muhammadiah Limbung. Practically, this study provided information to the English teacher as to whether the use of cartoon images would improve students' writing skills.

Theoretically of this research was therefore interest in studying the technique of teaching writing using cartoons has a feedback to both students and teacher to help students to improve their writing skill. The researcher wants to know that cartoon as a medium can improve the students' skill in writing narrative text.

But this research is about improving the students' writing about narrative text by using cartoons. Planning also called pre-writing is an activity to prepare the students to write. At this stage there are some activities that can be done to encourage the students to be able to write.

At this stage, students have the opportunity to write anything they can think of based on the topic they want to write about. The important point is that each stage of the writing process can help and guide students to be able to write effectively. Sometimes the product approach hinders students' freedom to organize their thoughts and ideas.

The students learn how to make the sentences correct based on grammar and the context. The process approach places emphasis on "the writer as the creator of original discourse, focusing particular attention on his or her procedures for producing and revising text".

The indicator of this research was the use of cartoon to improve students' writing skills.

While the post-test was given after the treatment to determine the improvement of students' writing skills after writing the material. Student data is aggregated into an average score to determine students' writing skills. The findings of the research deal with the result of cartoon in improving students' writing skills in the second grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung.

The improvement of students' writing skill through cartoon picture The researcher gave treatment by using cartoon pictures in experimental group to see the improvement of students' written narrative text method as follows. The figure above shows that the students' writing scores of pre-test and post-test have a significant improvement compared to writing narrative text. The researcher gave treatment without cartoon picture in class control to see the improvement of students' written narrative text method as follows.

This section discusses the interpretation of the findings, as well as the description of the data from the students' score percentage on the pretest and the test. After carrying out some treatments using cartoon images, the students' narrative writing was improved, especially in the areas of organization, idea development and grammar. By using a cartoon image as media to facilitate students' learning process, because the cartoon image is suitable for young students to increase their ability to master the material.

In the result, the researcher assumes that the use of cartoon pictures is beneficial to improve students' writing skills because there were significant writing achievements of the students after the treatment was completed. Based on the analysis result of this research, showed that in the experimental class, the average score of students' writing on narrative text in pre-test is 48.86 and post-test is 81.34. These scores also prove that the use of Cartoon Picture Sequence improves students' writing skills more significantly in the second grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung.

The teacher can use Cartoon Picture to motivate students to learn English, especially in writing narrative text. Using videos to improve students' writing skill about narrative text in English learning process. The use of chained pictures as a medium for developing students' writing skills of narrative text.

Using series as media to improve the students' ability to write narrative text. The improvement of the students' reading comprehension through the use of know-want-learn (K-W-L) strategy of the second year students of SLTP 5 Bulukumba.
