Kota Bandung dijuluki sebagai Kota Kembang, Kota Musik, Kota Kreatif, hingga Kota Pendidikan. Kota Bandung menjadi idaman tersendiri bagi sebagian anak muda yang ingin meneruskan pendidikan karena beberapa perguruan tinggi di Kota Bandung termasuk dalam jajaran prestisius dalam sejarah perkembangan pendidikan di Indonesia. Jumlah pendatang dari luar Kota Bandung pun semakin meningkat. Dengan kenaikan jumlah penduduk tersebut, tentunya kebutuhan akan tempat tinggal semakin tinggi, akan tetapi ketersediaan lahan untuk bermukim pun akan semakin sedikit. Kondisi seperti ini mendorong terciptanya pembangunan gedung-gedung hunian vertikal untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat Kota Bandung karena dinilai dapat menjadi solusi dari permasalahan minimnya lahan.
Rancangan gedung hunian vertikal/ apartemen yang direncanakan akan mengikuti perkembangan jaman saat ini serta memiliki fasilitas-fasilitas yang dapat menunjang kegiatan penghuni selama berada di apartemen. Dalam pemikiran ini, penerapan gaya Arsitektur Kontemporer yang serba modern atau up to date diharapkan dapat diterima oleh masyarakat masa kini dan menjadi daya tarik bagi calon penghuni. Gaya arsitektur ini pun dituntut mampu untuk tetap memperhatikan iklim setempat agar dapat beradaptasi dengan lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, penerapan Arsitektur Kontemporer dapat dijadikan gaya arsitektur pada bangunan apartemen yang berada di Kota Bandung untuk memenuhi kebutuhan akan tempat tinggal.

Bandung City is called as the City of Flowers, the City of Music, the City of Creative, to the City of Education. Bandung has become a dream for some young people who want to continue their education because several universities in the city of Bandung are included in the prestigious ranks in the history of the development of education in Indonesia. The number of migrants from outside Bandung has also increased. With the increase in population, of course the need for shelter is higher, but the availability of land for settling will be even less. Such conditions encourage the construction of vertical residential buildings to meet the needs of the people of Bandung because they are considered to be a solution to the problem of lack of land. The planned vertical residential / apartment building will keep up with current developments and has facilities that can support the activities of residents while in the apartment. In this thinking, the application of Contemporary Architecture style which is completely modern or up to date, is expected to be accepted by today's society and become an attraction for prospective residents. This architectural style is demanded to be able to keep paying attention to the local climate in order to adapt to the environment. Therefore, the application of Contemporary Architecture can be used as an architectural style in apartment buildings in Bandung to meet the needs for shelter.
