Related to the statement above, the researcher is interested in using Predicting Strategy time strategy in teaching reading to the eighth grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah Metro. From the information above, the researcher wanted to know if the prediction strategy used in teaching reading comprehension skills of the eighth grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah Metro can improve their reading comprehension. Based on the identification of the problem, the researcher wants to limit the problem only to "Most of the students find the difficulty in reading comprehension", because the knowledge of the meaning of the lesser.

Can the use of Prediction Strategy improve students' reading comprehension and their learning activities in the eighth grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah Metro?‖. The result of this research was expected as an alternative technique in teaching reading comprehension. The result of this research was expected as a positive contribution to students for improving reading comprehension using the prediction strategy.

The result of this research as an expected alternative to improve the quality of English teaching and learning, especially in developing reading comprehension of MTs Muhammadiyah Metro.

This technique is used to determine whether students have understood the content of the text read. It is clear from the above explanation that in the top-down model, the process of understanding deals with the background knowledge to predict the meaning of the text. Effective understanding not only gives meaning to the text they read, they can also use the information it contains.

It is characterized by the process by which readers get the messages and meaning of the text they have read. Based on the explanation above, the researcher can assume that reading comprehension is skill should activate the reader's prior knowledge to search for the meaning of the text to understand and to get all the new things we have read. It recalls any experiences and associated knowledge that a reader has about the subject of the text.

Post-reading prediction activities involve students making adjustments based on their reading of the text.

In addition, the researcher made an observation sheet that consists of a list of students' names and a list of .. student activities that will be observed during the teaching learning process. The researcher then asked about their condition initially before the attendance checklist. The classroom situation was less effective because the collaborator handed over to the class to ensure that the students . effectiveness before the researcher conducted classroom research. Right here on the first page it says .. once upon a time there was a beautiful girl called Cinderella‖. The researcher describes Cinderella.

You can create an image in your mind about Cinderella‖. The researcher gave the clue in each sentence until the end. Right here on the first page it says "the Rabbit once bragged about his speed". The researcher gave the clue until the last page. The students seemed very enthusiastic to read the text.

The researcher provided data until the last page. The researcher asked the students if they had any questions about the material.

RESULT OF THE RESEARCH AND INTERPRETATION

The Description of Research Location

The data confirms that MTs Muhammadiyah Metro has 21 rooms, which consist of 8 classrooms, 1 principal's room, 1 daily room, 3 teacher's room, 1 school health room, 1 library, 1 ceremony yard, 1 mosque, 1 computer room, 1 physical. laboratory, 1 Collaboration, 1 administration room. This research used action research in the classroom, the purpose of which was to improve the activity of students and the outcome of the study in MT's Muhammadiyah Metro. In this research before the process of cycle one, the research conducted the pretest on Thursday, November 30, 2017.

The researcher pre-tested the students to see the students' level of reading comprehension before the treatment was given.

The Description of Research Data

  • Action and Learning Activity in cycle1
  • Action and Learning Activity in cycle2

In this step, the researcher prepared the curriculum, materials and media that will be used in the learning process of teaching. The researcher started the lesson with a question about the students' daily activities. Then the researcher explained the material about the narrative text. Then the researcher asked the students to read the text about Cinderella, after that the researcher asked the student about the text.. do you understand the story?‖. A few students understood this.

The researcher said "Let's reread the first page of Cinderella, so I can ask you to think aloud about the story while reading the story. Here, the researcher was the teacher and the English teacher was like a collaborator who observes the students' activities during the teaching learning process. Based on the above analyses, the researcher concluded that this research should continue in cycle II.

Therefore, in this step the researcher had to prepare the lesson plan, the material and the media that would be used in the teaching learning process. This means that the time had passed and the researcher closed the lesson and reminded the students to read about narrative text again. Based on the problem faced in the first cycle, the researcher made a lesson plan focusing on it, she also prepared observation sheets of the student.

After that, the researcher gave the posttest cycle 2 with a similar task in the posttest cycle 1 earlier. The observation was carried out by the researcher who is presented at meeting II in the 2nd cycle.

Interpretation

Also in II. at the end of the cycle, students were more active in completing assignments and tests than before. Recapitulation of Student's Total Pre-Test and Post-Test 1 Score Pre-Test Post-Test 1 Category. From the average score of the pre-test and post-test 1 above, it can be seen that there was an improvement in the students' reading comprehension.

The recapitulation of the total of students from post-test 1 and post-test 2 Mark post-test 1 post-test 2 category. The recapitulation of students' full score of Post-Test 1 and Post-Test 2 Mark Pre-Test Post-Test 1 Post-Test 2 Category. The full percentage of the student's grade on Pre-Test, Post-Test 1, and Post-Test 2.

The result of the Students' Activity in Cycle I and II No name Cycle 1 Cycle II. Based on the above table and graph, it can be concluded that there was an improvement in student activities during the learning process of cycle I and cycle II, through the use of the imaging strategy. This research related to cycle II, the grade of the result and the result of the students' activities, the target that was set in the success indicator 70% of the students received the minimum grade of 70 was achieved.

Based on the results of this survey, it was known that more than 70% of students achieved the minimum score of 70.

Discussion

Furthermore, the researcher used the Prediction Strategy which could improve students' reading comprehension. After completing cycle I and cycle II, students' reading comprehension improves because the researcher used the Prediction Strategy. Based on the explanation of cycle I and cycle II, it can be concluded that using prediction strategy can improve students' reading comprehension.

We could see that there was an improvement on the average score and total of the students who passed the test of pre-test, post-test I and post-test II. In improving the students' reading comprehension, the researcher used prediction as a strategy to train the students' reading comprehension and make the students understand more narrative text in reading who were also interested in learning English reading. It is a strategy for individual learning to make it easier for the students to explore their ideas, feeling and also their experience, so that the students got some understanding and improved reading comprehension.

The headmaster is advised to support the use of a leading predictive strategy in another teacher's learning process as this can improve students' reading comprehension and make students more active. The teacher should be more creative in motivating the students in learning English and could include Predicting Strategy as a strategy in the teaching process, especially in the reading class, to engage the students in the learning process. The students should be more active in learning English by entering the classroom with discipline and diligence.

As a result, the students can grasp and understand the material given by the teacher and improve their comprehension, especially in reading comprehension. Remember to take the big pumpkin,” the stepmother asked Bawang Merah to do exactly the same as Bawang Putih’s experience. Most students scored below the target of the minimum standard of criteria.

The students understood the way and the rule to follow the researcher instruction based on the predictable strategy rules. The students were very happy to do posttest 2 because it was very easy after they were given the treatment at each meeting.
