Than, Birch, and Rumelhart define reading as an interactive process that takes place between the text and the reader's processing strategies and background knowledge. Strategic reading is defined as a reader's ability to use a wide variety of reading strategies to achieve the purpose of reading.

Definition of Comprehension

Definition of Reading Comprehension

Meanwhile, Kintsch argues that reading comprehension is the product of processes that operate during reading to create a mental representation of the situation described by the text, known as a situation model.10. By reading, the students can improve their skills, mind and information that they can all get from reading something.

Models of Reading Comprehension

The interactive model is defined as a combination of both the bottom-up and top-down model and emphasizes the interrelationship between a reader and the text. In this model, the interaction of bottom-up and top-down processes is identified during the reading process.12 In other words, two models can be combined in the reading process.

Types of Reading Comprehension

There is a positive and significant influence of using Metacognitive Strategy on students' reading comprehension in the tenth grades of MA Muhammadiyah Metro. This means that there is a positive influence of using Metacognitive Strategy on students' reading comprehension in the tenth grade at MA Muhammadiyah Metro.

Strategies of Reading Compreension

Teaching Reading Comprehension

The teacher usually helps when the student has difficulties and sometimes comments or asks questions about the text. Based on the above explanations, the teacher can use many methods or strategies to help the student understand the text in teaching reading comprehension.

The Measurement of Reading Comprehension

A good reader not only has a good understanding, but also will not be able to place himself/herself in the text and will try to live the story (a mistake). A good reader will not allow the concentration to mix with the book and not only understand the deeper meanings of the text (a mistake).

Based on the above explanations, the metacognitive strategy model is divided into two separate ones, namely metacognitive knowledge and self-regulation. Based on the above explanations, there are four procedures of using the metacognitive strategy such as planning, monitoring, evaluation and problem solving.

From the table above, it can be seen that the metacognitive strategy is high and that the students' reading comprehension is good, so there is a positive and significant influence of the use of the metacognitive strategy on the students' reading comprehension. Conversely, if metacognitive strategy is low and students' reading comprehension is poor, there is no positive and significant effect of metacognitive strategy use on students' reading comprehension.

It can be concluded that there is a significant impact of the use of Metacognitive Strategy on the reading comprehension of students in the tenth grade of MA Muhammadiyah Metro.

This means that there is a significant impact of the use of Metacognitive Strategy on the reading comprehension of students in the tenth grade of MA Muhammadiyah Metro. The pre-test result of the experimental class of students in the tenth grade of MA Muhammadiyah Metro.

RESULT OF RESEARCH

Research Setting

Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah Metro was established from the existence of Teachers of Religious Education (PGA) for 6 (six) years that existed before 1982. Meanwhile, MA Muhammadiyah Metro is the only state high school in Metro which was built on April 25. 1984 based on Regency Decree of Central Lampung number: 15/MA/84. In addition, Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah Metro has been integrated with Darul Arqom Islamic Boarding School Muhammadiyah Metro, which emphasizes the ability in tahfidz, the science of jurisprudence, and becoming preachers.

Muhammadiyah Metro is assisted by a school board, an official staff member, a student leader, a chief deputy of general and a chief deputy of curriculum. Therefore, the Director of MA Muhammadiyah Metro in the academic year 2016/2017 Ahmad Kholil, S.H.I. b. Vision, Mission and Purpose of MA Muhammadiyah Metro 1) Vision. Prepare intelligent and disciplined graduates in your scholarship and compete in modern era according to time;.

The conditions of teachers and official employers at MA Muhammadiyah Metro have been quite good for the learning process.

Research Data

The graph of the frequency distribution of the table above described that the result of the students' pre-test score (experimental class). Frequency distribution as a result of control class pre-test at tenth grades of MA Muhammadiyah Metro. Hypothesis Testing

Preparing the table to examine the differences between experimental class and control class. The authentic table of the differences between experimental class and control class in the tenth graders of MA Muhammadiyah Metro. Establishing the table distribution frequency of pre-test and post-test in experimental class (X IIS).

Moreover, after entering the above data into Chi-Square analysis, the researcher got 𝝌𝟐observed is 12,982.

Interpretations

There is no positive and significant influence of the use of metacognitive strategy on reading comprehension in the tenth grade students of MA Muhammadiyah Metro. It means that if the tobserved is higher than ttable (there is a positive influence) and 𝟐observed > 𝝌𝟐table (there is a significant influence), Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. On the other hand, if tobserved is less than ttable (there is no positive influence) and 𝝌𝟐observed < 𝝌𝟐table (there is no significant influence), Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted.

After analyzing the data in hypothesis testing, the researcher found that the critical value of tobserved is 10.36. The hypothesis applied in this current study is that there is a positive influence of the use of metacognitive strategy on student reading comprehension in the tenth graders of MA Muhammadiyah Metro. After analyzing the data in hypothesis testing, the researcher found that the critical value of 𝝌𝟐observed is 12,982.

The hypothesis applied in this current research is that there is a significant impact of the use of Metacognitive Strategy on the reading comprehension of students in the tenth grade of MA Muhammadiyah Metro. On the other hand, there is a positive and significant impact of the use of Metacognitive Strategy on the reading comprehension of students in the tenth grade of MA Muhammadiyah Metro.

Limitations

Malin Kundang and his mother had to live hard because his father passed away when he was a baby. Word spread quickly in the city; "Malin Kundang got rich and now he's here". An old woman, Malin Kundang's mother, ran to the beach to meet the new rich merchant.

When his mother approached him, Malin Kundang who was with his beautiful wife and his ship's crew denied that she was his mother. She had begged Malin Kundag to look at her and accept that she was her mother. Finally, feeling enraged, she cursed Mount Kundang that he would turn into stone if he did not apologize.

What did Malin Kundang's mother do when she heard that Malin Kundang landed on the shore. She cursed Malin Kundang that he would turn to stone if he did not apologize to her.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Suggestion

The King of Klungkung was killed, but his daughter Made Surati and his son Agung Bagus Mantra managed to escape and hide in the jungle. A good reader will let their concentration get mixed up with the book and not just understand the deeper meaning of the text (mistake).

A good reader does not allow his concentration to get confused with the book and does not only understand the deeper meaning of the text (mistake). A long time ago, in a small village near the beach in West Sumatra, there lived a woman and her son, Malin Kundang. One day, when Malin Kundang was sailing, he saw a merchant ship attacked by a group of pirates.
