It was the year 1952. and today the Wild Eighty became the celebration of a hundred, all because of the dream of an agriculture teacher and the willing efforts of his professional agriculture students. 34;This doesn't mean the mysteries of weather are clear to us," he warns, "...but we do have some clues that should emerge in a few years." Although researchers have known for 30 years that cloud seeding can produce rain, they have only recently discovered that it can perform even more miracles. “Overseeding,” weathermen believe, can delay the formation of rain and dissolve clouds. Scientists admit that tornadoes are extremely confusing. “We need a lot more basic research before we tackle tornadoes,” says Dr. Byers.

By comparing progeny scores from various herd bulls and breeding cows, breeders can get a clear picture of which one is doing the best job. In this part of the program, the progeny of herd bulls will be "tested" or measured for their ability to produce high value carcasses. Sometimes it seems to me that the greater challenge is offered in the study of the powers of the human mind. Our little two-room school is so far out in the country that the younger students were so burned by the sight of the sheriff's car that the notator didn't sleep that night. Prominent farmers in lower Aberdeenshire had developed pure polled herds by 1820, and by 1862 the first. Hugh Watson bred and developed the first cow to be recorded in the Scottish Herd Book - Old Grannie 125 (1). These bulls were crossed with native Texas longhorns, and the improved spring immediately became popular with cattle feeders in the Midwest and Southwest.

GROW LIKE SIXTY''

Watson is regarded by historians as the early improver of the Angus breed: McCombie, the master builder: and Grant - who owned the oldest herd in Scotland - is regarded as the builder of families. The first purebred herd in America was established by James Anderson and George Findlay of Lake Forest, Illinois, in 1878. These, and many other qualities, have placed Aberdeen Angus in a prominent position among the beef cattle breeds of today.

MANUFACTURING CO.. INC

With Europe at war and the price of wheat soaring, the southern counties of Scotland gave up stocking and feeding for more profitable grain farming. The offspring, due to selective breeding of these two naturally pollinated strains, produced the forerunners of the Aberdeen Angus breed as we know it today. Angus cattle are known for imitations of color and quality, and for their ability to produce a maximum of prime beef with a minimum amount of waste.

We kept suspecting Rustler's suspicions, and one day, just when my father seemed tired of the talk, a thought struck him. BILL SHARMAN, outstanding guard of the Boston Celtics, is one of the best all-around players the game of ball has ever known.
