Dear Professor,
We wish to submit a new manuscript entitled “Enhancing enzymatic digestibility of coconut husk using nitrogen assisted-subcritical water for sugar production” by Maktum Muharja, Nur Fadhilah, Tantular Nurtono, and Arief Widjaja for your consideration of its publication in Bulletin of Chemical Reaction Engineering & Catalysis. This paper deals with the SCW pretreatment of lignocellulose waste for further processing.
We confirm that this work is original and has not been published elsewhere nor is it currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. In this paper, we discovered the enhancement of sugar production under the mild condition of SCW pretreatment assisted by nitrogen as pressurizing gas. The deformation and solubilization of lignocellulose after SCW treatment have confirmed which lead to the increase of enzyme accessibility during the enzymatic hydrolysis process. This study is a significant finding because the method has powerfully escalated sugar yield about 4-fold compared to the unpretreated method, cut the production cost off and ensured an environmentally friendly process as the use of nitrogen gas. This paper should be of interest to readers in the areas of pretreatment of lignocellulose biomass for further processing such as biohydrogen, biogas, and bioethanol production.
Thank you for your consideration of this manuscript.
