Accelerating Renewable Energy Transition for Sustainable Development

We as delegates from Portugal, we honored to be able to contribute to this vital gathering and discussion. Renewable energy has grown in importance throughout time, and Portugal recognizes the value of renewable energy, therefore they continue to develop the energy resources they have, such as wind, water, solar power, waves, and so on. Portugal promotes renewable energy with the primary goal of decreasing reliance on nonrenewable fossil fuels and lowering greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. Portugal's sensible moves enabled the country, which was formerly largely reliant on fossil fuel imports, to become a clean energy pioneer in Europe, and the Portuguese government has recently announced that it will achieve 80% clean energy in power generation by 2026.
