One of the effective applications in teaching reading is the use of Quizizz as a tool to improve students' reading skills during the pandemic. Can Quizizz app improve students' reading skills during the pandemic period of eighth graders at SMPN 2 Bumirat Nuban. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The test is the step to recognize the students' skills and to know how far the students' skills are in the learning process. In this part, the researcher will give a pretest to students using Google forms to replace paper in this pandemic era.

And then measure how much the students can understand the text given to them by the researcher. This pretest used a Google form before using the Quizizz app to improve his reading skills. This post-test asked students to determine if there was a significant improvement in students' reading skills by learning English using the Quizizz app during the pandemic.

The purpose of observation is to explain the situation being investigated, such as the activities, people or individuals involved in an activity and the relationships between them. In this research, the researcher will observe the learning process of eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Bumiratu Nuban in their classroom. Documentation is a method or strategy used to collect data or information from written language (for example: books, rules, notes and others, photos, recordings or videos).

The researcher used the documentation to get some detailed information of the teacher, students and organizational structure of SMPN 2 Bumiratu Nuban.

So, it can be concluded that compared to the learning activity of students in cycle I and cycle II of the pre-experimental class, there was an increase in the scores of students in cycle I and cycle II. The use of Quizizz application as a media in the learning process, especially in English, can improve the reading skills of eighth grade students in SMPN 2 Bumiratu Nuban from Central Lampung.

Although in cycle I, students' ability to read is still weak, because almost of the students could not reach the objective of the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MCC), but in cycle II, most of the students could reach the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). ). Students didn't sit down and read, but could memorize the answer and picked up new vocabulary in the text. Students to be more active in the learning process in the classroom and improve their reading skills using the Quizizz app.

It is suggested that the principal supports the English teacher to use the Quizizz app as a media in the learning process because this app is useful in the English learning process especially to improve students' reading skills in the pandemic era. Teaching literacy using Quizizz Application as a medium could make students interested in the learning process and feel enjoyed.

Suggestion

Dengan bimbingan dan arahan guru, siswa mempertanyakan antara lain perbedaan bentuk teks dalam bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Indonesia. Secara kolaboratif, siswa mencoba menjawab dalam bahasa Inggris untuk mendapatkan umpan balik dari guru, serta jawaban yang berkaitan dengan pembelajaran, simulasi, role play dan kegiatan terstruktur lainnya. Media apa yang digunakan untuk belajar bahasa Inggris di SMP Negeri 2 Bumiratu Nuban secara online.

Jenis teks atau materi apa yang dianggap paling sulit bagi siswa untuk belajar bahasa Inggris? Kadang-kadang siswa yang saya ajar aktif di kelas karena suka dengan materi yang saya ajarkan, selebihnya biasa saja, tidak ada yang menonjol dalam nilai bahasa Inggrisnya, meskipun beberapa dari mereka mengambil kursus bahasa Inggris di luar sekolah.
