Freeze framing is a powerful tool because it engages the right brain that drives creativity. A summary afterwards can focus on the nature of body language used in the freeze frame, why pupils decided to portray the scene in the way they did, and why others may have portrayed the event in a different way. g. To find out if there is a positive and significant impact of the use of freeze framing technique on students who write narrative text in the eighth grade of SMP N 9 Metro in the academic year 2019/2020. After the writer gave the technique in the class, it has a significant influence on the result of students' writing narrative text, especially for the eighth grade students of SMP N 9 Metro.

So there is influence of freeze framing technique towards the students writing narrative text in eighth grade in SMP N 9 Metro in academic year 2019/2020.

RESEARCH METHOD

Research Design

In this research, the researcher used quantitative research to identify the impact of using freeze framing technique on student writing narrative text among eighth grade students of SMPN 9 Metro in Academic Year 2019/2020. In fact, Daniel Muijs stated that quantitative research is explaining phenomena by collecting numerical data that is analyzed using a method based on mathematics.16 It means that quantitative research is research that uses numerical data for all data. Furthermore, Daniel established that there are two types of quantitative research design, namely experimental design and non-experimental design.

In this study, the researcher used real experiment design VIII A as an experimental class receiving the treatment taught using the freeze framing technique. The design is as follows: The influence of the use of the freeze framing technique on the student's writing of narrative text. Third, both groups received the same instrument post-test in the pre-test.

Finally, it was possible to determine the impact of using the freeze framing technique on a student writing a narrative text.

Following the posttest, statistical analyzes are performed to see if the treatment had an effect on the experimental group. 18. They are divided into a class. In this research, the population is the entire eighth grade of SMPN 9 Metro. The sample of this research is students in SMPN 9 Metro Academic Year 2019/2020, the researcher took from VIII A consisting of 30.

Sampling refers to the process of selecting the individuals who will participate in a research study.21 In this research, the researcher used a cluster purposive sampling technique as a sampling technique that is based on previous knowledge of a population and the specific purpose of the research.

In experimental studies, treatment is the independent variable and outcome is the dependent variable.24 The dependent variable of this study is the variable that was observed and measured to determine the effect of the independent variable. The researcher tested the students by asking them to write a narrative text that forms a narrative text. It was implemented in the academic year 2019/2020 to the eighth grade students of SMPN 9 Metro.

From the above table, the researcher measures the essay test score by adding all the aspect based on the score obtained by the student.

Data Collection Method

Documentation is the tool that has written as books, magazine, printout, newspaper, lengthier, legend, document, regulation, note and so on. The researcher used this method to get data about the history of the school, the relationship of the teachers and official staff, the number of students and the organizational structures and also the English teacher's documentation, who has the skills to collect the data and get detailed information about the students' English performance in writing in narrative text by the eight graders in SMPN 9 Metro in the academic year 2019/2020.

Research Instrument

Data Analysis Technique

The writer administered the pre-test on Friday, December 13, 2019, to identify students who write the narrative text before the treatment. The post test employed in the last program of this research after giving some treatments to the students. After applying the test method, the writer analyzed the data using Chi-Square and t-test to prove whether there is a positive and significant impact of using freeze framing technique on the writing of narrative text of eighth grade students. SMP 9 Metro. in the academic year as follows.

It means that alternative hypothesis (Ha) which explains "there is a positive and significant influence of using freeze framing technique towards students' vocabulary mastery". So the students enjoyed the learning process more and got more rewriting of the stories. This research result is a research conducted in SMP N 9 Metro on the eighth grader in the academic year 2019/2020 on the influence of the freeze-framing technique on the students' narrative.

This research is recommended to do further research about the growth of students' narrative writing.

THE RESULT OF RESEARCH

SMP N 9 Metro is one of the youth schools in Metro City SMP N 9 Metro was established in 2003, located in Piagam jakarta street 16 polos Mulyosari, sub-district of Western Metro, which has a width of about 10,800 m2. The facilities and building have existed with the building such as: principal, staff and school counselors. Mission: to increase the self-determination of the teacher, staff and students, create and conducive, effective and innovative learning conditions, motivate students, strengthen academic performance optimally, bring the quality of examination with the higher standard more than national graduation competency standard, build the infrastructure of teaching and learning maximum, and increase and develop the extracurricular activity.

Based on the table above, the author measured the class interval by using the formulation as follows. After knowing the interval class, the data taken from interval above was put on the frequency distribution of the table as follows. The diagram of the frequency distribution of the student's written narrative text score in the pretest.

The test used in this research was of the same type as the pretest, but in a different title and more developed.

Hypothesis Testing

Then know the critical value of chi-square the author first counted does, it was degrees of freedom The formulations of df. First, the author prepared the table and put the data into the formula t-test as below to get "t_observation". After considering the T-test table using df29 is higher than 20 and it is lower than 30, so it is done by interpolation and can be found that.

Interpretation

Discussion

Before the treatment, most of the students scored 70, there were about 7 students, and after the treatment, the students who scored 70 were only 2 students. Therefore, it can be concluded that the technique that was applied gave an impact on the students' narrative text writing.

Freeze framing makes students have more to see their thinking how freeze framing can motivate students to participate in class and also motivate them to learn English better. The teacher should use the freeze framing technique in teaching English with different media or some modifications to be more interesting. Some modifications may be needed to accommodate the different characteristics of the students in the class.

The principal must support the learning process of English by fully preparing the aid and instrument. The next researcher can explore the implementation of freeze framing and other variables with different media and teaching materials.
