The purpose of this study was to find out whether students are able to master the present tense using the worksheet. The question asked in this study was: “How does the worksheet improve the students' command of the present tense?”. The result of the data analysis indicated that there was a significant increase in the students' ability to master the present tense.

Based on this fact, the author concluded that Worksheet was effective in improving the students' ability to master the present tense. The above data shows that the worksheet is successful in improving the students' ability to master the present tense. Based on the problem statement above, the aim of the study is to find out if the students are able to master the simple present tense using the worksheet.

This study is limited to the educational structure through the use of worksheets to improve the students' ability to master the present tense.

The Importance of Teaching and Learning Grammar and Stucture

From some defense above we can draw a conclusion that grammar is the rules of how the word and phrases are combined to form a sentence that corresponds to the language rules in which the sentence can be understood in human communication.

In the second meeting, the teacher actually used the same treatment as in the first meeting, but different material.

Based on the table above, it shows the students' ability to master the simple present tense in pre-test and post-test. This means that the use of worksheet is effective in improving the students' ability to master simple present tense. The table above shows that students' ability to master the present progressive tense in pre-test and post-test.

However, after eight sessions of using the worksheet strategy in present progressive tense teaching and learning, the students scored a 7.67 in the posttest. It means that using worksheets is effective in improving the ability of the students to master present progressive tense. The table above shows the students' ability to master the present perfect tense in pre-test and post-test.

Before, the researcher taught the students by using worksheet starategy, firstly, the researcher did pre-test. However, after using worksheet strategy in the teaching and learning process of present perfect tense for eight meetings, the students' score in posttestis 7.56. This means that the use of worksheet is effective in improving the students' ability to master present perfect tense.

The graph above indicates that the comparing students' ability in current time between pre-test and post-test. The data analysis shows the finding that the students' score is low or simple present tense (6.41), present progressive tense (6.30) and present perfect tense (6.17). However, after using the worksheet in the teaching and learning process of present tense for eight meetings, the students' score in post-test is simple present tense (7.67).

The researcher concludes that using the worksheet improves students' ability to master the present tense. This means that there was a significant difference in using the worksheet strategy to improve students' achievement in learning the English structure of simple present tense, present progressive tense, and present perfect tense.

Discussions

These errors are categorized as 'mistake of be'. The students ignored the restrictions on the use of the auxiliary function 'be' for single and multiple subjects. If the subject of the sentences is singular, students should use is instead of are. The following sentences, sentence, show the students' mistakes categorized as the wrong form of negative sentences.

In this example, the students failed to use the correct form of the auxiliary verb do. The following sentences, which are sentences, are the result of students' misunderstanding of the distinction between singular and plural forms. The above sentences show that the students did not understand the building in singular and plural form.

It is data analysis that was done on students' writing of using simple present tense in descriptive text. This means that using the worksheet strategy is effective in improving students' ability to master the present progressive tense. However, after using the worksheet strategy in the present tense teaching and learning process for eight meetings, the students' posttest score is simple preset time (7.67). This means that there was a significant difference in using the worksheet to improve students' achievement in learning the English structure of simple present tense, present progressive tense, and present perfect tense.

The achievement worksheet strategy on students' ability to master the present tense was important. The data above shows that the worksheet was able to improve students' achievement in learning the present tense, especially at SMA N 1 Sungguminas.

Suggestion

The value of test is simple present tense (8.6), present progressive tense (7.8) and present perfect tense (7.2). the classification of these three variables is significant.

The present perfect is used to express the activity that happened before now, at an unspecified time in the past. The present perfect is also used to express repetition of an activity before now. The present perfect also expresses a situation that began in the past and continued into the present when used with before and since.
