Abstract
The heating and cooling at the end of the welding process can cause residual stresses that are permanent and remain in the welded joint. This study aims to evaluate the magnitude and direction of residual stresses on the base metal and heat-affected zone of rail joints welded by the manual shielded metal arc and thermite welding. This research supports the feasibility of welding for rail. The material used in this study is the R-54 rail type, and the procedure used two rail samples of one meter long each, welded using manual shielded metal arc welding and thermite welding. The base metal and heat-affected zone of the welded joints were scanned with neutron ray diffraction. The scan produces a spectrum pattern and reveals the direction of the residual stress along with it. We found the strain value contained in both types of welded joints by looking at the microstrain values, which we obtained using the Bragg equation. The results show that the magnitude and direction of the residual stress produced by manual shielded metal arc welding and thermite welding are not the same. Thermite welding produces lower residual stress (lower crack susceptibility) than manual shielded metal arc welding. The melt's freezing starts from the edge to the center of the weld to create random residual stresses. The residual stress results of both the manual shielded metal arc welding and thermite welding are still below the yield strength of the base metal.

Abstract
This paper presents an ultra-wideband tapered slot patch antenna with bi-directional radiation, reconfigurable for dual band-notched capability and fed by coplanar waveguide. The proposed antenna showed excellent ultra-wideband characteristics with bandwidth of (1.9–12 GHz). In order to reduce the interference of the narrow band communications represented by Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access radiation in the range (3.4–3.9) GHz and standard IEEE 802.11a. application (from 5.1 GHz to 6.1 GHz), the antenna was accompanied with adjustable dual-stop band capability in these bands. The dual-band notches are achieved with aid of inserting a parasitic single split ring resonator and etching a single circular complementary circle split ring resonator. The proposed antenna used epoxy (FR4) substrate material with 𝜀

Abstract
In recent years, owing to advances in technology, excavation pits have shown increased improvements. Taking advantage of advanced solutions combined with traditional ones has brought about considerable advantages for construction contractors and saves on expenses to carry out construction projects. Owing to their ability to analyze geotechnical problems, several calculation and simulation software, such as Plaxis, Bentley, along with many others, have grown in popularity. Among them, Midas is one such software, which is a set of solutions developed by the MIDAS IT company and is widely applied in many constructions. The authors evaluated the ability to use Midas software to calculate the stability of a wall in a deep excavation pit for the Ho Chi Minh City Water Environment Improvement Project. The results of these researches reveal that combining soil-cement piles and sheet steel piles decreases the internal forces in sheet steel pile walls. At the same time, this solution not only reduces horizontal displacement but also keeps the settlement of the soil around the excavation pit within the permissible range, which helps to ensure that the adjacent pavements are stable and will not crack. The results of this study can be applied to similar geological constructions.
