Abstract
Sexual violence against women constitutes a serious threat to women's rights, especially for those who have been victims of sexual slavery and subsequently experience other forms of sexual violence, such as electronic-based sexual violence.
This electronic-based sexual violence can include actions such as dissemination of illegal pornographic photos and videos, online verbal harassment, and sexual threats through electronic media. This research aims to analyze the legal protection for female victims of sexual slavery facing electronic-based sexual violence. The research methodology employed is a normative juridical research method. This study focuses on secondary data related to legislation, materials obtained from literature, and a case study in Salatiga where the victim endured both physical and sexual violence and became a subject of sexual slavery by the perpetrator.
Subsequently, after the victim successfully escaped, the perpetrator began disseminating explicit photos and videos of the victim through social media accounts. This case falls within the realm of sexual slavery and also constitutes a form of electronic-based sexual violence. The results of this research indicate that legal protection against such forms of sexual violence is governed by the Criminal Code (KUHP), Law Number 44 of 2008 on Pornography, Law Number 19 of 2016 on Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE), and Law Number 12 of 2022 on Sexual Violence Offenses. The study assesses the extent to which these laws are adequate in safeguarding women who are victims of sexual slavery and experience electronic-based sexual violence.
