Components of Writing

Based on the above explanation, the researcher concludes that Facebook is safe to use for the general public and also for educational purposes because it is open to anyone who is 13 years or older and not children to use the data.
Using a real Facebook user, the researcher believes that profile photo and basic profile facchook are appropriate resources for teaching descriptive writing for 10th graders from SMA Singosari Delitua.
Conceptual Framework
Previous Study
The experimental group was taught using photos on Instagram and the control group was taught without using photos on Instagram. After both groups received the treatment, the result of the study shows that the mean score of the experimental group was 74.80 and the control group was 72.63. It means that the score of the experimental group was higher than the score of the control group.
This proves that there is a significant difference in achievement between the groups that taught using Instagram photos and conventional teaching. Based on the result of this study, it is concluded that the application of Instagram photos can improve students' writing skills in writing descriptive text. It was effective and recommended for the English teacher as one of the references in the teaching and learning process. The differences between this research and the writer's is that the writer will conduct the use of profile picture on facebook, which is different from the above research, the use of Instagram photos and the place of the research is also different.
Similarity between this study and two previous studies using picture as teaching medium in writing descriptive text. While the difference between this study and previous research is the social media used by previous researchers who used Instagram media while in this study they used Facebook media and the method used was almost experimental while in this study using quantitative methods and in Previous research has used recount text as non-descriptive text as in this study.

The aim of the researcher in this study is to investigate the effect of the profile Facebook as a media on the learning to write descriptive text in the eleventh grade of SMA Singosari Delitua. Experimental Research, According to Ary Test, a scientific research where writer manipulates one or more independent variables and observes the effect of the manipulation on the dependent variable(s) using experimental research, the sample is divided into two companies, they are the experimental and control class. The students are taught using profile Facebook as their media and in the control class without using profile Facebook, both groups are given a pre-test and a post-test.
According to Arikunto Population is the whole of observational research, if a researcher wants to find out all the factors within the area of study, her research is called population research. Pre-test would be given to both the class control and the experimental before the treatment was performed. Education is given to the experimental group with a Facebook profile picture and the control group without a Facebook profile picture.
Post test would give to both the class control and experimental after giving treatment to the students and will give a test on describing people. The purpose of this test is to find out whether the Facebook profile picture is effectively used by students after performing the treatment and also to see the comparison of scores between the experimental class and the control class. The validity of the test should be established clearly and in accordance with the marks of the exam to ensure that it is already good. The step in analyzing data, the researcher gives a pre-test to the control group and the experimental group after performing the pre-test, the researcher performs the treatment.
In carrying out the treatment, the researcher used profile picture from Facebook to teach the writing of descriptive text for experimental group and a general material of descriptive text for control group.
