ABSTRACT

Work and family life is central to the lives of working adults. Work and family problems in working adults are very complex during this pandemic, especially for individuals who are married and have children. Conflicts that arise from the demands of the work and family domains that require fulfillment to reduce conflicts experienced by individuals are called work-family conflicts. Work-family conflict if not managed properly can lead to lasting consequences that attack both physically and mentally working adults. In order to avoid adverse effects on individual health both physically and psychologically, prevention efforts were made by examining the role of the antecedent variable, namely the work-family climate in predicting work family conflict. This study aims to examine the role of work-family climate variable son work-family conflict. In order to prevent the continuing consequences of work family conflict, adults work for private employees during the pandemic. This quantitative study uses survey data from 86 Central Java and DIY banking employees, both male, and female, with the characteristics of being married. Data were obtained using the work-family conflict scale from Calson et al., adapted by Artiawati (2012), and the work-family climate scale from Kossek (2021), translated into Indonesian. The results of the test using SPSS 21 with the correlation test got the results of R=0.71 p<0.01 meaning that work-family climate and work-family climate have significant correlation with work-family conflict. This study shows that individual external factors contribute to the reduction of work-family conflict among banking employees in Central Java and Yogyakarta.
