APPENDIX 0

Oversee the implementation of the national officer selection process at the National FFA Convention, including training the nominating committee. Each year, a member of the National FFA Board of Directors is appointed as the Board Inspector for the National FFA Officer Candidate Selection Process. The Teacher Educator Advisors of the National FFA Board of Directors play a very important role in the selection of National FFA Officers.

The teacher trainers are members of the Tabulation/Selection Committee and work closely with the National FFA Nomination Committee. It is important that all parties involved understand the process for selecting National FFA Officers and the role and function of their committees. To qualify for a national FFA office, the candidate must be in the upper half of his/her region.

One or more teacher educators will construct, review, administer, and grade the National FFA Officer Candidate Exam A. A copy of the exam must be sent to the Student Services team leader at the National FFA Center by November 1st. The exam will be administered on the Monday morning prior to the FFA Board of Directors meeting the week of the National FFA Convention.

The teacher trainer(s) responsible for the examination must provide sufficient copies of the examination for candidates to take. The Tabulation/Selection Committee is responsible for retrieving, re-checking and recording the Nomination Committee's personal interview scorecards. The tabulation committee calculates and records an average score for each candidate based on the nominating committee's nine individual scores.

The scores must be submitted on the Summary of Scores form which must be provided on computer disk from the National FFA organization. The Tabulating/Selection Committee will work closely with the National FFA Board of Director's representative in charge of overseeing the nomination process.
