Peneliti memberikan pre-test pre-treatment, dua treatment dan dua post-test, subjek penelitian tindakan ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Metro Kibang Lampung Timur. Artinya penggunaan board game dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Metro Kibang Lampung Timur. Hasil data pada siklus 1 nilai rata-rata pretes 62,11 dan postes 64,88 dan dari siklus 2 nilai rata-rata 66,19 Hasil siklus 2 lebih tinggi dari hasil postes pada siklus 1.

Artinya penggunaan board game dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Metro Kibang Lampung Timur.

Problem Identification

Most of the students of SMP Negeri 1 Metro Kibang East Lampung among the eight graders still have poor speaking performance. Most of the students of SMP Negeri 1 Metro Kibang East Lampung at the eight graders still lack structure knowledge and vocabulary. Most of the students of SMP Negeri 1 Metro Kibang East Lampung at the eight grade students lack motivation to learn English, especially in Speaking Performance.

Most of the students of SMP Negeri 1 Metro Kibang East Lampung in the eighth grade have a problem in pronunciation in learning speaking performance.

Problem Limitation

Most of the students of SMP Negeri 1 Metro Kibang East Lampung at the eight graders have less confidence to speak in front of the class. Most of the students of SMP Negeri 1 Metro Kibang East Lampung at the eight graders did not know how to speak fluently with the correct grammar.

Problem Formulation

Can playing board games improve students' speaking performance and their learning activities in eighth graders of SMP Negeri 1 Metro Kibang East Lampung.

The researcher used the cycle of Classroom Action Research (CAR) by Jean McNiff and Jean Whitehead as the figure below:29. Based on the observation, the researcher can determine if there is something that the researcher needs to improve soon so that the action can achieve the goal of the researcher.

In this step, the researcher observes the process of teaching learning using a form of observation. Through reflection, the researcher and teacher would realize the strength and weakness of the actions taken by the researcher and teacher. Planning is the first step in any activity, without planning the activity carried out by the researcher would not be focused.

In this step, the researcher would compare the pre-test and post-test result. The researcher examines and reflects on the activity of the students and the performance of the teachers whether it is positive or negative, the second cycle sufficient or the need for the next step.

A test is a sequence of questions or statements used to measure the skills, knowledge, intelligence, abilities that an individual or group has30. Moreover, to collect the data, the researcher used the oral test to know the speaking performance of the students. The test consists of two types of tests, they are pre-test and post-test.

The pre-test was given in the first meeting before doing the treatments to know the ability of the students before doing the action research. This treatment that he had done in the last meeting after the treatments was aimed at discovering the change in the achievements of the students in the classroom or not. Improvement can be identified if the mean post-test score is higher than the pre-test.

In the context of science, observation means more than just observing the world around us to get ideas for research.31 Moreover, the research uses given and researched activities to teach the class whether or not they are bored with that given activity. This technique was used to collect data on board game use and students' speaking skills. The researcher used the documentation method to get detailed information about the history of the school, the sum of the teacher, employers, students and organizational structure in the eighth graders of SMP Negeri 1 Metro Kibang East Lampung.

The classroom action research material was using a board game to enhance students' speaking performance. The researcher also planned to provide evaluation to measure . mastery of the given materials. In this meeting to measure the students' speaking performance after using the board game, the researcher gave the students oral test.

In this session the researcher got the results of the students' post-test 1 in cycle 1. The result can be seen as follows. The Students' Post-test 1 result of cycle 1. Frequency of students' score at post-test 1 of cycle 1 No score Frequency Percentage category. The result of the learning process to increase the students' speaking performance by using Board Game in cycle 1 increased than before.

But the results of the students' tests were better than the students' even before they gave treatment. From the result of cycle 1, it showed that there was an increase in the result at pre-test and post-test 1. The students were interested enough in the learning process, although the state of the learning process was still uncontrolled. It can be deduced that the learning process has worked well and that the students were active in cycle 2.

It can be seen that most of the students have no problems with speaking. Pay attention to the teacher's explanation Comprehension of material Active in class Students can do the task.

There was an increase in the number of students who achieved the result of the standard from pre-test to post-test 1 and from post-test 1 to post-test 2. Based on the above explanation, the researcher concluded that the research was successful because the result result students achieved a success rate of 70%, with a minimum mastery criterion of 65. And then students are more active and gain points from the material more easily.

Therefore, this research was declared complete and could be stopped in cycle 2 because the result of the students' activities achieved the indicator of success which was 70% and the students get the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) score is 65. Based on the explanation of cycle I and cycle II, it can be concluded that the use of Board Games can improve the students'. We could see that there was an improvement on the average score and total of the students who passed the test of pre-test, post-test I and post-test II.

Board games included some steps that made the student more active in learning with other students, so that students' speaking performance could be improved after practicing board games continuously. Moreover, the researcher used a board game with some steps to improve the students' speaking performance. It can be concluded that there is an improvement in students' speaking performance by using board games at SMP Negeri 1 Metro Kibang East Lampung.

Students are expected to be more active in learning English, therefore, students can understand and understand the material given by the teacher and improve their knowledge, especially in speaking, so that students' speaking performance will improve. It would be better for the English teacher to use board games as a technique to train students' speaking ability and use to reduce students' anxiety before students speak, because the benefits of the board game can improve students' speaking performance and also other skills in English. From the observation of the class, the students will be more active after the teacher has given motivation and positive stimulation to the students that English is not a difficult subject.

The researcher observes the students' speaking performance based on the analytical speaking score where it includes fluency, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and accuracy.
