This research was conducted to know whether the vocabulary skill of the first grade students of MTs Darul Muhajirin Putra is affected by the use of show and tell technique or not.
The experimental class was taught by show and tell method while the control class was taught without show and tell. So, it can be concluded that the use of the show and tell method is positive in teaching vocabulary at MT Darul Muhajirin Putra. RESEARCH METHOD
The title of the research is "Effectiveness of Vocabulary Teaching Using Show and Tell Method at MTs Darul Muhajirin Putra" the author concludes that the first variable is show and tell technique as an independent variable and the second variable is vocabulary mastery as a dependent variable. variable. The first was the experimental group and the second was the control group with a non-equivalent pre- and post-test group design. The researcher treated the experimental group with a show-and-tell strategy and the control group with another strategy. In addition, the pre-test result was compared with the post-test result.
The posttest result showed that the highest score is 90 and the lowest score is 50, while the average posttest score in the experimental class is 66.43. The results showed that the students got the highest score of 70 and the lowest score of 30, while the average score of the control class was 47.50. Therefore, we can conclude that the distribution of the pretest data of students in the experimental and control classes was normal.
Based on the table, the significance of the experimental group is 0.290 and that of the control group is 0.200. The result on the table proves that the significance of the pretest between the experimental group and the control group is 0.346. The result of the data in the table shows that the post-test of the experimental and control class was 0.902.
So it can be concluded that the variance data for the students' post-test in experimental class and control class was homogeneous. Based on the results of the analysis showed that there was a difference in the mean score between the post-test in. So it can be concluded that the use of show and tell is effective in the students' vocabulary of first grade students at MTs Darul Muhajirin Praya.
The finding of the study showed that using the show and tell method in teaching vocabulary was an effective strategy to increase students' vocabulary. The pre-test mean score of the experimental class was 50.36 and the post-test was 66.43. However, based on the t-test, the result of the mean score in the post-test between the experimental and control class was 66.43 and 56.42.
Nevertheless, the mean score for the post-test in the experimental class was higher than the post-test in the control class.
