This undergraduate thesis studied an analysis of idiomatic expression in frozen film scripts and its implication in the teaching of vocabulary. The aim of this study is to identify the type of idiomatic expression in Frozen FilmScript and to describe the meaning of idioms that appear in Frozen film script and to know the implication in the teaching of vocabulary. As a result of the analysis, there are 84 idiomatic expressions found in the Frozen Film Script.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis ekspresi idiomatik dalam Naskah Film Beku dan untuk mendeskripsikan makna idiom dalam naskah film Beku dan untuk mengetahui implikasinya terhadap pengajaran kosa kata. Skripsi ini berjudul ―ANALISIS MAKNA EKSPRESI IDIOMATIS PADA SKRIPSI FROZEN FILM DAN APLIKASINYA DALAM kosa kata PENGAJARAN‖.

Briefly, idiom is an expression, a phrase or sentence, the meaning of which is not obvious thought knowledge of an individual meaning of the constituent words, but as a whole must be lean. From the study, it was found that among 96 idioms taken as the data, 52 idioms were of the fixed idioms and 44 were the non-fixed one. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the types of idiomatic meaning found in movie script Inside Out ―English Phrasal Compounds‖ get the highest precntage, which is 43.8%.

Concept of Idiomatic Expression

For example, according to Baker, "bury the hatchet" meaning "to become friendly again after a disagreement or a fight" and "the long and short of it" meaning the basic facts of the situation, are expressions idiomatic, the meanings of which may not be deciphered from the meanings of their individual elements. Example is the word ―innit?‖ which is derived from the words of the phrase ―asn't it?‖; the word ―bae‖ which refers to a term of endearment used for romantic couple The form contains the mandatory definition, for example .. to make a boy‟ means to disappear secretly.

The leading verb is not followed by the direct object, but by the preposition plus a noun or nothing, for example "to dance in the air" means to be hanged. . f) The leading verb is BE, for example "to be overboard". means to be out in the open, honest. g). Incorporation of verbs is separated by (-). a) Noun, "sight-see" means "visit the famous places of a city, country, etc.". b) Adjective-noun, "extortion" means "the crime of demanding money from a person by treating to tell another a secret about them". c) Noun, "bootleg" means "made and sold illegally". d) Adjective – verb, "whitewash" means "an attempt to hide unpleasant facts about someone/something".

The Concept of Frozen Film

The film tells the story of a fearless princess who embarks on an epic journey with a gruff iceman, his loyal reindeer and a naive snowman to find her estranged sister, whose icy powers have unwittingly trapped the kingdom in eternal winter. In the winter landscape, the Ice man worked so hard to earn the giant block of ice, they cut the ice using the tools they had brought, and they sing a song about how the beauty and danger of the ice accompany their work. In an accident, Elsa shot Anna a piece of snow on her head accidentally, which dyed her hair white immediately.

From that accident, their parents forbade Elsa from using her power again and kept her away in her room. Elsa, the first princess has a special power to turn anything into ice and snow at lightning speed from her fingertips. After she is seriously injured during the night, Elsa's parents decide to keep her locked up in the castle until she can learn to control the powers.

When Elsa was becoming an adult princess, the Kingdom prepares for her to become a queen and has a party. Anna was very happy because the Kingdom was opened to all people and she can't wait to meet people outside. Anna asks Elsa for her blessing to marry Hans, but Elsa refuses and orders the guards to close the Kingdom again.

Elsa goes away in the North Mountain because she was very panicked everyone knows her secret. On her way to find Elsa, Anna meets and finds so many good and bad situations until she knows the right kind person between her and Elsa. Finally, Anna can bring Elsa back to the Kingdom and they can live happily ever after in the Arendelle Kingdom.

Video can help students who want to see the culture of the western by viewing it in their classroom. This is especially when they want to know how their body language is when they invite someone out, or how the American speaks to waiters. Video is also a great value to give students a chance to see all cultures from other countries.

It can be good media because they can memorize all the vocabulary in the video they made and it can enrich their mastery of their vocabulary. For all the reasons mentioned so far, most students show more interest when they get the chance to see and hear language, and when it comes with an interesting task. In addition, Nasution states that the benefits of using film in the teaching and learning process are:35.

Based on the above explanation, the researcher's investigation used descriptive qualitative research to describe and interpret the data or result. In this research the data source would be based on two types of data. The main source of the study is an entire text of the Frozen Movie Screenplay written by Jenifer Lee consisting of 113 pages.

Meanwhile, Zinaagrue: "The term 'document' can refer to anything more than paper and can include photographs, works of art, and even a television program."38 Documentation is a method used to obtain information from written sources, regardless of , or are in the form of books. , magazines, regulations, daily notes, etc. In data collection, the researcher uses the documentation method to obtain detailed information about the idioms found in the Frozen Film script written by Jenifer Lee. The data will be selected by the researcher and then collected systematically according to the problems of the study.

As Creswell said, the process of data analysis involves preparing the data for analysis, by reading all the data, applying the. 38Zina O'Leary, The Essential Guide to Doing Research, (London: Sage Publication coding process, description, representation and interpretation.39 As a result, the researcher applied the six steps to analyze the obtained data. For this step, the researcher carries out the Frozen Film Script written by Jenifer Lee.

After reading all data, the researcher can make the certain categories of the finding result. In this step, the researcher chose to analyze using Makai's theory.40 Those idiom expressions were classified into 6 types. Jenifer Lee and calculate the proportions (frequency and percentage) of the types of idiom expressions and how many idiom expressions found.

Discussion

Implication in teaching Vocabulary

In this chapter, the researcher discusses the conclusion and suggestion of this study entitled Analysis of Idiomatic Expression Meaning in Frozen Film Script and Implication It in Teaching Vocabulary. The conclusion is concluded from the finding and discussion that was analyzed by the researcher. Based on the previous analysis of the entire script, it is found that the movie script of Frozen contains various idiomatic expressions.

Using Makai's theory, it is found that there are five types of idioms found in the film script. These types are the phrasal verb idiom, the turn idiom, the irreducible binomial idiom, the compound phrasal idiom, and the involving verb idiom. The number of idiomatic expressions used in the movie script is 84 with phrasal verb idiom occurring 60 times, idiomatic verb idiom 4 times, irrevocable binomial idiom 3 times, compound phrasal idiom 7 times and verb idiom includes 10 times .

The meaning of idiomatic expressions found in the movie script of Frozen is usually assigned in the dictionary of idioms. There are idioms in which the meaning is based on the context, while the meaning is based on the vocabulary of the idioms. Moreover, it can be said that in order to understand the meaning of idioms, in addition to looking at the original meaning, one must also look at the context when the idioms are uttered or spoken.

For the learning process, the teacher has an essential role in helping students to improve their vocabulary. In order to have a rich vocabulary, students should not only learn as many words as possible, but also remember them, because learning is basically remembering. Therefore, it is important to understand the features of idiomatic expressions to effectively memorize the vocabulary and it can help students to know the contextual meaning of idioms in the text or utterance.

The researcher suggests that the students should learn about discourse analysis, as it can help the students enrich their vocabulary. The translation analysis of the idiomatic expression in Kinney's Diary of AWimpi Kid: The Last Straw (Intro Diary Si BocahTengil: Usaha Terakhir).
