1 1. PRODUCTION OF TOMATO:
The major Tomato producing States in the country are Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Telangana , Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Tamil Nadu. These States are account for 91% of the total production of the country. The production of Tomato during the year 2017-18 (Third Advance Estimate) is estimated to be about 6.4% lower as compared to the previous year. However as compared to past 5 years average production, it is 4.4% higher. (Table-1.2).
The details regarding seasonality and harvesting period of Tomato crop in the country are given in Table-1.1

2. CURRENT STATUS OF TOMATO:
The harvesting of Kharif tomato in the state of Karnataka, Andhra Pradresh, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand started. The produce is coming in the different markets of the country.
3. MONTHLY ARRIVAL:
The All India monthly arrivals of Tomato for five years (2012-2016) along with the monthly arrival of 2017 and 2018 (till date) are given in Table-3.1 and Figure-3.1.
