ASSAM UNIVERSITY, SILCHAR (A Central University) ASSAM UNIVERSITY STUDENTS UNION ELECTION- 2017-18
NOTIFICATION
This is to notify to all concerned that ASSAM UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, UNION ELECTION- 2017-18 shall be held for the following posts of the office bearers and councilors as per details given below:
1. President 2. Vice-President 3. General Secretary
4. Assistant General Secretary (Two Posts) i) Open Post – 01
ii) Post reserved for female candidate – 01 5. Secretary, Cultural Affairs
6. Secretary, Sports 7. Secretary Magazine
8. Councillors-One from each Academic Department
Nominations for the above posts from eligible candidates will be received w.e.f. 31/10/2017 till 04:00 PM on 02/11/2017 in the Office of the Election Commission, Department of Earth Science, AUS.
Nomination papers will be available at the office of the Election Commission from 11:00 Hours on 31/10/2017 till 11.00 Hours on 02/11/2017 on production of valid University ID card / admission fee receipt. All candidates are required to have their duly filled-in nomination papers complete in all respects with all necessary documents and duly certified by their respective HODs.
Election Schedule
(i) Issuance of Election Notification : 30/10/2017
(ii) Last date of Nomination : 02/11/2017(By 4:00 PM) (iii) Scrutiny of the Nomination : 03/11/2017(4:00 PM onwards) (iv) List of Eligible candidates : 03/11/2017(5:00 PM)
(v) Withdrawal of Nomination : 04/11/2017(Upto 4:00 PM) (vi) Publication of Final list of contestants : 04/11/2017(By 5:00 PM)
Vii Debate Session : 07/11/2017(11 AM onwards)
(vii) Closing of Public Campaign : 08/11/2017(By 11:00 AM)
(viii) Polling : 09/11/2017(10:30 AM to 02:30 PM)
(ix) Counting of Votes : Immediately after the Polling is over (x) Declaration of Result : Immediately after counting and
compilation of votes is over , All used and unused ballots, result sheets and relevant documents will be submitted to the Election Commission by the Presiding Officers immediately after the counting is over.
Display of posters and/or any other campaigning material shall be confined to the following three areas within the University Campus.
1. In the open space before reaching Bipin Chandra Pal Auditorium 2. In the open space opposite the Central Rabindra Library Premises 3. In front of the Department of Education
In all matters related to this election, decision of the Election Commission shall be final.
