A new regulation 22A is added in MARPOL Annex VI Ch.4 on “Collection and reporting of ship fuel oil consumption data” and has entered into force from 1st March 2018
Under this regulation, ships of 5,000 gross tonnage and above on international voyages are required to collect and report data on fuel oil consumption, as well as distance travelled and hours underway

- IRS can examine SEEMP that it complies with Res. MEPC. 282(70) and issue a Confirmation of Compliance as required by Reg. 5 of MARPOL Annex VI
- IRS can verify the fuel oil reported data and issue Statement of Compliance as required by Reg. 6 of MARPOL Annex VI To help the shipping industry in preparing for the new regulation, IRS has prepared Guidance Document and Web based Electonic Tool.
