Jean Pisani-Ferry is Senior Professor of Economics and Public Management at the Hertie School of Governance, is a professor of economics with Sciences Po Paris and has served as Commissioner- General for Policy Planning since 2013, reporting to the French Prime Minister. Pisani-Ferry helped found the Brussels-based economic think tank Bruegel in 2005 and served as its director. He was previously Executive President of the French Prime Minister’s Council of Economic Analysis (2001-2002), Senior Economic Adviser to the French Minister of Finance (1997-2000), Director of the French international economics institute CEPII (1992-1997), and Economic Adviser to the European Commission (1989-92). Pisani-Ferry has taught at Université Paris-Dauphine, Ecole Polytechnique and the Université libre de Bruxelles.
