Sir,
1 hare the honour to address you on the subject of transfer of
% Babtt Surendranath Majuadar,Profes8or of History in the Presidency Collie.
Ho has been officiating as Professor for a long tine and has also been noninated Iqr the Princlijal to act as the Treasurer of the Collage Ifaion for a nuBber of years, I an of opinion that his influence over the b<^s in connexion with the work of the College Hbion has not always been conducive to good discipline. I have strong grounds for believing that
indirectly he has been largely responsible for csrtain unfortunate incidents la Fetouary 1956 in connexion with the Annual Sports of the Collie when all the oonpetitors stayed away fro» the Heats and the Sports had to be abandoned. He is strongly partisan in spirit, and during the two short periods when I acted as the Principal of the College 1 have been in sons ways haaipered by bln in maintaining College discipline. His presence in the College for any further period is not desirable. I recoanend therefcn^e that be nay be transferred elsewhere.
I have the honour to be Sir,
Tour i ^ t obedient servant
(Offgjr)"l^lncipal,
Presidency College, Galotta.
