Abstract:- This research paper is related to the study and analysis of the reasons of usage of water purifiers by the consumers of Indore city. The study is showing the status of usage of water purifiers on various aspects.
1. INTRODUCTION
It is well known to us that water is essential for sustenance and multiplication of living organisms.
Whether it is a unicellular amoeba or complex human body system water is an absolute necessity for keeping it the system functioning. Humans need pure clean, tasty and safe drinking water free from any micro-organism when he or she is thirsty and is ready to pay substantially if need be. If we talk about the drinking water in our city Indore there is a shortage of drinking water and public cannot get the pure and safe water which is good for health. Water is key element of the human body which keeps all body parts balanced but if the water is not clean and filtered it declines the growth of our body and imbalances our body parts.
It is proved in survey of WHO (World Health Organization) that 80% of diseases are borne by water therefore it is needed to have safe and clean water to keep the city healthy.
Water purification is the process of removing undesirable chemicals, biological contaminants, suspended solids and gases from contaminated water. The goal is to produce water fit for a specific purpose. Most water is disinfected for human consumption of drinking water, but water purification may also be designed for a variety of other purposes, including fulfilling the requirements of
medical, pharmacological, chemical and industrial applications.
The methods used include physical processes such as filtration, sedimentation, and distillation, biological processes such as slow sand filters or biologically active carbon, chemical processes such as flocculation and chlorination the use of electromagnetic radiation such as ultraviolet light. Therefore the usage of water purifier is increasing day-by-day on various aspects of the consumer behavior.
1.1 Objective of the Study
Every study has a specific objective to do it. The objective of this research is to know the reasons for usage of water purifiers by the consumers of Indore city.
2. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This study is based on primary data and a questionnaire has been prepared for collecting this data. A survey will be organized for collecting data from the consumers of water purifiers in Indore city. The sample size is 300 Consumers 3. STATUS OF REASONS FOR USAGE OF WATER PURIFIERS BY THE CONSUMERS OF INDORE CITY

As per the above table it is mentioned that 153 consumers out of 300 total consumers belief that the safety is the main reason for the usage of water purifier, it is about 51% consumers. The reason behind the use of water purifier is a healthy issue is given by the 165 consumers i.e. about 55% out of total consumers. There are 30 consumers giving the reason to usage of water purifier is that it is convenient for them.
The percentage of such consumer is 10%.
The easy availability is one more aspect of the 5% consumers. Only 1% consumers has given others reasons for usage of water purifiers.
As per the analysis it is clear that highest consumer of Indore city giving the reason for usage of water purifier is healthy reason and second priority is given by the consumers is safety issue because they belief that in present scenario the drinking water is not fully safe to direct use.
