PRIME MINISTER’S TROPHY 2012-13: TEAM BEGINS ASSESSING RINL PERFORMANCE
The Assessment team for Prime Minister’s Trophy 2012-13 headed by Sri JC Aylawadi, an industry expert arrived to a warm welcome in VSP today to assess the performance of RINL on different parameters.
The other members the team include Prof ML Saikumar, Dean (Academics), Institute of Public Enterprises (IPE), Sri S Satish Kumar, Senior Faculty, (IPE) and Sri Ranbhir Singh, JSW.
The team witnessed a corporate presentation of RINL by Corporate Strategic Management (CSM) Department highlighting the performance of the Company for the year 2012-13.
While welcoming the team, Sri Umesh Chandra, Director (Operations) RINL explained the strategic initiatives taken in the company and the progress made in commissioning of various units of the 6.3 mtpa expansion phase. He also mentioned that during Ist Half of current fiscal, RINL’s performance was very encouraging.
Sri PC Mohapatra, Director (Projects), and senior officers of RINL participated in the interaction.
The team members later visited major production and expansion units.
During the day, the team interacted with top management & HODs on various aspects like leadership, ethics, policy & strategy, suggestions, QCs, competency development, issues related to employee welfare, CSR, energy, water & cost reduction, supply chain issues, modernization& capital repairs, IT management etc. The team critically evaluated various enabling parameters stipulated for assessment of PM’s Trophy during the interactions.
It is worth mentioning that RINL has bagged the PM’s Trophy twice during 2002-03 & 2005-06 and Steel Minister’s Trophy for 2006-07 & 2009-10 for excellent performance among the integrated steel plants in the country.
