3 年生は、3 回目の英語劇、みんなで力を合わせて発表 できました。1,2 年生の時と比べてセリフも長くなったり、
自分たちでナレーターを行ったり、動きもたくさんあり一 気にレベルアップしました。他の子のセリフを助けたり、自 分たちで発表する曲を選んだり、成長した子どもたちの 姿を見られて嬉しかったです。来年は英語劇ラストです！
どんな劇が出来あがるのか今から楽しみです。

【Year 1】
１年生は、今年 1 年間やる気いっぱいで英語の授業に取り 組むことができました。英語の授業に慣れるところから始ま りました。授業の始まりの言葉、天気、そしてお祈りと毎回の 授業での繰り返しがあったり、宿題を決まった日に提出する ことだったり、一年かけて子どもたちは成長しました。その 中でたくさんの語彙に触れ、少しずつ身体の中に貯えてい きました。今学期は英語劇を成功させるため一生懸命取り 組みました。みんなで英語を使う場面、大きなチャレンジで したが、みんなよく頑張りました！

【Year 4】
4 年生は、今年で 4 回目の英語劇でした。今年はイン フルエンザ等のお休みがなく、全員でこの日をむかえ ることができ子どもたちも喜んでいました。最後の英語 劇ということもあり、とても気合いが入っていました。さ すが 4 年生ですね。セリフに気持ちを込め、演じること ができていたと思います。その姿に大きな成長を感じま した。来年からは英語でのスピーチに挑戦です。
【Year 2】
2 年生は今年度、果物や野菜の語彙を学んだり、食 事のレシピを書いたりしました。一年生の時と比べて長 い歌が覚えられ、前の学年で学んだ語彙を使えるよう になり英語の語彙が増えていきました。
そして、今学期は｢子ひつじピコ｣を英語で演じまし た。とっても素晴らしい劇でした。A・B 組合同の練習時間 も少ない中、一人一人が自分のパートをよく練習し、み んなで合わせることができていました。
来年度の子どもたちの成長が楽しみです。
【Year 6】
６年生は、初等での英語の学習は終わりですが、まだま だこれから続く英語の学習の最中にいます。今まで耳を中 心に聞いていた英語のフレーズが中学生になると文法事 項を論理的に学びます。初等で耕されたものが
少しずつ芽を開きますように。
みんなの活躍を聞くのを楽しみ にしています。Good luck!

After School
～１年間ありがとうございました～
1，2 年生は iPad を使って聞く・書く・読む・話すことを勉強してきました。授業以外でもたくさん英語に触れ る機会を持つことができて良かったと思います。外国の先生と話すオンライントークはすっかり慣れた様子 でした。子ども達は恥ずかしそうにしながらも、一生懸命に話す姿がみられました。最後の日に、単語帳や Workbook を配布しましたので、ぜひご家庭でご活用ください。2 年生は、3 年生になると本と CD を使っての 学習になります。1 年生は引き続き iPad での活動となります。来年度も宜しくお願いいたします。
3～6 年生は 5 月から本を始めて、たくさん英語を聞き、読み、書き、話しました。今週月曜日に JET テスト の結果を子どもたちに返却しましたのでご確認ください。前回のテストの結果と比較して子どもたちの成長 を見ていただければと思います。今年度、文化的な活動では、歌や行事に関するゲーム、クッキングなどを しましたが、それに加えて来年度からは、英語の先生と１対１で会話をするという活動も取り入れたいと思っ ています。どうぞ来年度も多くの参加をお待ちしております。

ぼ～ぐなん一年間しっかりと宿題を出した 児童には賞が贈られました
Plays and Presentations: The first graders did a fabulous job as zookeepers in the English play “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?” Our second graders confidently shared a poem of their choosing. It can be scary being on stage alone but you three did well. Thank you to the parents and grandparents that joined our third and fourth graders Poetry Jam.
Library Books: The school year has ended but many of our library books are still checked out. Please have your son or daughter return any books they have at home which they are finished with. We will need them for the next school year.
As you return our books, feel free to donate any books you have at home that you are finished with. We love to add to our library and if you loved a book, so may someone else!
Recently we have gone through our library, primarily the early readers (red tape) books. We have removed select books (old or never checked out) and they are now available for you to own! Please drop by and see our selection of books looking for a reader like you!
MobyMax: Next year students will again be required to work on MobyMax. While the total number of minutes has not yet been determined, students are welcome to begin working during spring break starting on March 25th. As before, please work on Language, Reading and Vocabulary. Additionally we require that students complete one Reading Level Assessment. Completion of this assessment WILL count toward your reading goal and must be completed by mid-June.
Club: Club for the year has ended. We were so busy practicing for the play that we definitely earned a reward: pancakes! At our last meeting students had the opportunity to draw shapes and write their names as they made a delicious pancake. Next time you make pancakes, try putting the batter into an empty ketchup container. What will you draw?
Volunteers: Thank you to all the parents who volunteered this year. Our work was made a lot easier because of your support and hard work during those days that you volunteered to work with us. We are looking forward to having your continuous support next year.
Year 1 It was a great year working with these wonderful students. We started the year with a review of the beginning sounds, moved on to the short and long vowels, then learned to make simple sentences, verbs and nouns. I am so glad to see the students write full page journals by the end of the year. Amazing job, first graders!
Year 2 As new members joined in 2nd term, we jumped right into writing sentences, super sentences, questions and letters. The students had fun adding conjunctions to improve their sentences. At the end of the school year, these students can write whole pages, and I am happy seeing where they are now compared to where they started.
Year 3Students studied the “Five Senses” and adjectives to describe the senses this year. We also did adjectives, and more adjectives to describe different situations. It was interesting seeing students play with synonyms and antonyms but the most awesome was the students’ discovering the homonyms – words with the same sound but different spelling and meaning or words with the same spelling but different sounds and meaning.
Year 4 Exciting year for this grade of students. It was a year of exploration, discoveries and also imagination. The students discovered the planets in the first term, and created their own planets. In the second term they studied about insects and turned-in beautiful projects. And in the final term, they studied the oceans of the world and the amazing animals that live in them.
Year 5 The students ended the year with group essays on three animals they had chosen: Whales, Gorillas, and Eagles. During the year, they had studied the biography of some famous people. The green class had a study about the environment, how our activities affect the environment and what we can do to remedy these effects.
Year 6 The sixth graders worked very hard this year to develop their essays, reading comprehension ability, and speaking skills.
Tuesday, the students took the placement test for the Junior High International English program. When school starts next year, they will learn which class they were placed in. We wish the best of luck to all the sixth grader no matter which school they will be attending come April. Congratulations!
