4.3. Demographic Profile of Respondents

According to Cavana (2001), internal consistency is concerned with the homogeneity of the measures that tap the constructs, whereas stability is the capacity of a measure to deliver consistent results across time.

The finding shows that the frequency and percentage of respondents based on have you ever purchased/experienced counterfeit (fake) product. It shows that the percentage of undergraduate students in UMK City Campus is higher choosing ‘Yes’ compared to ‘No’ ever purchased/experienced counterfeit (fake) product in this research. The results of the study show that 96% equivalents to 226 students out of the total number of respondents choosing ‘Yes’ in ever purchased/experienced counterfeit (fake) product and 4% equivalents to 9 respondents choosing ‘No’. This shows that there are many undergraduate students in UMK City Campus who have experience in buying fake products.

4.3.3. Gender

The finding shows that the frequency and percentage of respondents based on gender. It shows that the number of female respondents was higher than male respondents in this research. The result of the research shows that 28.9% equivalents to 68 students out of the total number of respondents are male and 71.1% equivalents to 167 respondents are female students. All

respondents are undergraduate students in UMK City Campus from the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Business. It shows that according to gender, female have higher percentage than male in this research. According to the research result of Wolin and Korgaonkar (2003), men’s motives for shopping appeared to be more utilitarian whereas women’s shopping motives tend to be hedonic. This shows that female like to shop compared to male because female like to follow the current trend especially in the field of fashion. Therefore, the percentage of female is higher than males.

4.3.4. Age

The result shows the frequency and percentage of respondents based on age. In comparison, there was the highest number of respondents in the age range of 21 – 23 years old which is 80.8% equivalents to 190 respondents, and the lowest number of respondents in the age range of 19 – 20 years old which is 4.7% equivalents to 11 respondents. Unfortunately, there is no respondent at the age of 27 – 30 years old, 31 – 34 years old and

35 years old and above. This shows that the majority age range involved in this research is between 21 – 23 years old who answered this questionnaire.

Therefore, this shows that many 4th year students are involved in this research conducted.

4.3.5. Course

The result shows the frequency and percentage of respondents based on course. In percentage of respondents by course shows that the student in course SAK is higher which is 32.2% equivalents to 76 respondents because the researcher is also SAK course which makes it easy to distribute the questionnaire. Meanwhile, SAR and SAB course shows that 15.3%

equivalents to 36 respondents and 24.7% equivalents to 58 respondents respectively. At the same time, the student in course SAL and SAE represented the lowest number, which is 46 respondents (19.6%) and 4 respondent (1.7%), respectively. However, there are also other course involved which are many 6.5% equivalents to 15 respondents. This shows

that the SAK course has the highest ranking among the other courses.

Meanwhile the lowest raking from percentage of respondents based on course is SAE because this course does not have many people take this course in Universiti Malaysia Kelantan.

4.3.6. Current years of study

In percentage of respondents by current years of study shows that the student in fourth years is higher compared to other which is 78.3% equivalents to 184 respondents. The lowest number of respondents in the first year’s student is 3.8% equivalents to 9 respondents only.

Meanwhile, for the second years and third years shows that 7.7% equivalents to 19 respondents and 11.1% equivalents to 26 respondents respectively.

This shows that the majority of students from fourth years, involved in this research.

4.3.7. Ethnicity

The result shows the frequency and percentage of respondents based on ethnicity. The results of the research showed that 86.8% of the respondents are Malay which is equivalent to 204 students. The second higher which 8.9% of the respondents are Chinese which is equivalent to 21 students. At the same time, the Indian respondent and other ethnicity represented the lowest number, 12 respondents (51.1%) and 3 respondent (1.3%) respondents, respectively. This shows that Malay represented the highest number of respondents in this research. This in because the majority of students in the City Campus are Malay students.
