C3P 2s/oq/2011 q'1draw for new UMS postgraduates
KOTA KINABALU: The marketing and promotion unit of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Link Holding Sdn Bhd, yesterday organized a lucky draw contest at the Postgraduate Centre for new postgraduate students who registered themselves for Semester 1, session 2011/2012.
"This semester, a total of 408 students registered to do their postgraduate studies by coursework under Pusat Luar Universiti Malaysia Sabah (PLUMS) and 297 students registered at the
Postgraduate Centre for postgraduate studies by research.
"It is a proud increment as compared to 218 new PLUMS
students that registered last year, " said UMS Link Holding Sdn Bhd senior team manager, corporate services, legal and governance, Yusak Yumboris.
From 598 new students who registered for the postgraduate studies, 10 lucky students were chosen for the lucky draw.
Muhammad Aizuddin Abdullah Bukhari with his
postgraduate registration number `50' and lucky draw number `5' successfully won himself an Apple Ipad2 16GB.
Aizuddin who registered to do a Master of Philosophy in Biotechnology, under the supervision of Dr Ivy Wong was very happy to be the lucky winner.
Also present at the ceremony were UMS Link Holding Sdn Bhd Education and Training Manager, Rizal Malik and Postgraduate Centre Deputy Dean (Student Welfare), Dr Haji Amran Hi Harun.
