GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Mt. 18:15-20) The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew

"If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

REFLECTION:

When you are offended, are you willing to put aside your own grievance and injury in order to help your brother's wound?

The Lord Jesus wants to set us free from resentment, ill-will, and an unwillingness to forgive. The love of Christ both purifies and sets us free to do good to all - even those who cause us grief. The call to accountability for what we have done and have failed to do is inevitable and we can't escape it, both in this life and at the day of judgment when the Lord Jesus will return. But while we have the opportunity today, we must not give up on praying for those who cause us offense. With God's help we must seek to make every effort to win them with the grace and power of God's healing love and wisdom. Do you tolerate broken relationships or do you seek to repair them as God gives you the opportunity to mend and restore what is broken?

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, Give me wisdom and courage to bring your healing love and saving truth to those in need of healing and restoration. Amen.

FROM THE OVCAR – OFFICE OF THE INTEGRATED SCHOOL PRINCIPAL:

1. Commendation is given to all our Partners lead by the Asst. Principals for Administration and the Grade Moderators for the smooth opening of classes in the three learning communities.

2. Today, Dr. Glenford Prospero, Director for Integrated Digital and Innovative Instruction will have a session with our students on CAPTONES initiatives. Let us be guided by this schedule:

- Group 1: Grade 4 - 6 - 8:00 am - 9:30 am - Group 2: Grade 7 - 10 - 10:00 am - 11:30 am - Group 3: Grade 11 - 12- 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

3. Members of the Performance Evaluation Committee (PERC) will have a meeting today at 9:00am; LRC 2 Conference Rm.

4. The ISP together with Ms. Haidee Angeles will attend the DLSP Principals’ Forum on Aug. 17- 18 at DLSU- Dasmariñas. Meanwhile, Mr. Noriel C. Navita will be the OIC of the Integrated School.

FROM THE OVCAR – GRADE SCHOOL COMMUNITY:

From the Assistant Principal for Administration

1. Thanks and congratulations to the members of the Grade School Community for a smooth opening of classes.

We’ve made it together and by association. Animo La Salle!

2. We are on the third day of school and for sure, Grades 1-6 students have already adjusted to their new classroom, classmates and teachers as well. So my dear students please proceed to the classrooms without the assistance of your parents/guardians. Be an independent Lasallian!

3. Today, Grades 1 to 3 will follow the Lasallian Saints (LS) Day schedule while Grades 4-6 will have the Free Structured (FS) day. Please be guided accordingly.

4. A letter to parents thru the students was given. Kindly return the reply slip on or before Tuesday, Aug. 22.

5. RESGO will conduct the sizing of Type B uniform with the new students beginning today. Old students may still use the current Type B uniform this school year but they may already avail the new design. Order form will be sent to the parents, then, sizing will be done after finalizing the list.

6. Students are reminded of the following:

a. Behave well at all times. Always remember the things discussed by the GMs and your teachers during the orientation.

b. Be mindful of your class schedule especially the dismissal time. Remember to stay in the area where your parents or service drivers will fetch you.

2. Grades 7-10 students shall have their recess from 9:30- 10:00 am. After your recess, please proceed immediately to the SENTRUM. Please follow the floor plan which was already given yesterday.

3. All Junior High School Teachers are encouraged to attend the General Orientation at the SENTRUM.

Ang bawat wika ay may sariling henyo o likas na kakayahan – may kapasidad itong bumuo ng mga salita, kakaibang mga padron, paraan ng pagsasama ng mga grupo ng salita para makabuo ng pangungusap at sariling pananda ng diskurso.

Dalawa ang ginagamit na pag-iiba sa wika at diyalekto. Ang una ay batay sa laki, ang wika ay mas malaki kaysa diyalekto. Ang varayti na tinatawag na wika ay mas maraming aytem kaysa sa diyalekto. Kaya’t ang Filipino ay isang wika na bumubuo sa lahat ng diyalekto nito tulad ng Filipino sa Metro Manila, Filipino sa Metro Baguio o Filipino sa Metro Cebu. Ang ikalawang pag-iiba ng wika at diyalekto ay batay sa prestihiyo – ang wika ay may prestihiyong hindi makikita sa diyalekto. Kung ito ay pagbabatayan, ang wikang Ingles halimbawa na ginagamit sa pormal na pagsulat ay istandard na Ingles samantalang diyalekto lamang iyong hindi nagagamit ng gayon. Bagama’t sa pananaw ng lingguwistika ay walang wikang mataas o mababa.

1. Please be informed that the Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines (MTAP) in collaboration with DepEd is offering a Saturday Mathematics Program for Regular Students. The Mathematics Program for Regular Students aims to:

a. provide students the opportunity to explore Mathematics without the threat of tests;

b. review the materials covered last school year to enable the pupils to do well in Mathematics this school year

The Saturday Mathematics Program for Regular Students will be conducted for six Saturdays from August 26 – September 30, 2017 at 8am to 12:00nn with a fee of Php200 for all the sessions. This will be held in Lipa City National High School. If you are interested, please ask for the copy of the MTAP letter from your Math teacher and submit the reply slip together with the payment on or before August 22, 2017.

2. Please be informed that the De La Salle Lipa and DepEd Division of Lipa City, in partnership with the Asian MathSci League, Inc. (AMSLI), will conduct AMSLI’s Mathematics Enrichment Program (AMEP) Qualifying Examination on August 26, 2017, Saturday , 1:30 in the afternoon at De La Salle Lipa Integrated School.

AMEP is a 10-Saturday training program for Grades 2 to 12 students, designed to enrich, deepen and enhance topics discussed in the regular math classes in school by providing more applications, explorations as well as critical and creative thinking opportunities. The students who will successfully finish the program, depending upon their performance, will be invited to join more challenging mathematical activities specifically for international mathematics competitions.

Those who are interested to take the Qualifying Examination may register from August 14-23 2017. AMSLI is charging a minimal fee of Php 30 to cover the expenses for testing materials, honorarium for proctors and other miscellaneous expenses that may incur during the test administration. If you are interested, please ask for the copy of the AMEP letter from your Math teacher and submit the reply slip together with the payment on or before August 22, 2017.

FROM THE OVCAR –SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY:

1. All students are required to report to school at 7:30 am to 3:30 pm every Wednesday.

2. All students are required to attend the session with Dr. Glenford Prospero about preparation for CAPSTONE initiatives in the SENTRUM at 1:30 pm. Students are advised to start the movement from the classroom to the SENTRUM immediately after the afternoon prayer. Attendance will be checked at the venue. Seating arrangement will be taken care of the Grade Moderators.

3. On Independent/Cooperative Learning (ICL) Time: All Subject Teachers are required to inform their students about the ICL time for their respective subjects (Except for Science subjects with Laboratory, CLCE, ICTLearn and HOPE subjects) ICL time is part of the regular class schedule. LACs are requested to monitor activities of students during ICL time. Copy of class schedule with ICL time has been sent to LACs via email.

4. All SHS Academic Advisers will have a meeting today, August 16, 2017, 9:00 am at CLRC, Mezzanine Area, Discussion Room 3 and 4. Attendance is a must.

FROM THE OVCAR – STUDENT ACTIVITIES OFFICE:

1. On I.D. Capturing Schedule. Please take note of the I.D. Capturing schedule under Grade Moderator’s entry.

Once again, we are requesting the students to please accomplish and bring the I.D. Form. Thanks to our teachers for accompanying the students.

2. On Shidokan Club. Interested Grade 7 students are invited to enlist at the Student Activities Office until today for Shidokan Club. The first 50 students to enlist shall attend a meeting with Br. Mario Dacanay, FSC on Thursday at MMR 7 and 8 from 3:00PM to 4:00PM. Please note that the Club Meeting is every Saturday from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at the Mabini Roofdeck beginning August 19, 2017. Shidokan Club is for FREE, so hurry and learn martial arts now!

3. On Survey of Preferred Clubs. May we request the Homeroom Advisers to please forward the accomplished forms at the Student Activities Office today. The result of this survey shall be used to determine the club offerings for this SY in Grades 2 to 10. Thank you for your cooperation. ANIMO!
