GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Lk. 8:19-21) The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke

Then his mother and his brothers came to him, but they could not reach him for the crowd. And he was told, "Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you." But he said to them, "My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it."

REFLECTION:

Who do you love and cherish the most? God did not intend for us to be alone, but to be with others. He gives us many opportunities for developing relationships with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Why does Jesus seem to ignore his own relatives when they pressed to see him? His love and respect for his mother and his relatives is unquestionable. Jesus never lost an opportunity to teach his disciples a spiritual lesson and truth about the kingdom of God. On this occasion when many gathered to hear Jesus he pointed to another higher reality of relationships, namely our relationship with God and with those who belong to God.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, may your love be my constant guide for choosing what is good and for rejecting what is contrary to your will. Amen.

FROM THE OVCA – OFFICE OF THE INTEGRATED SCHOOL PRINCIPAL:

1. From the ISFSA

The Mass was instituted at the Last Supper by Jesus before his Crucifixion. The Last Supper was the first Mass.

When the hour came, he [Jesus] took his place at the table with the apostles . . . Then he took the bread, blessed it, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which will be given for you. Do this in memory of me" (Luke 22:14,19).

cont…Blood Diseases Month Symptoms

Anemia signs and symptoms vary depending on the cause of your anemia. They may include:

Fatigue

Weakness

Pale or yellowish skin

Irregular heartbeats

Shortness of breath

Dizziness or lightheadedness

Chest pain

Cold hands and feet

Headache

At first anemia can be so mild that it goes unnoticed. But symptoms worsen as anemia worsens.

Causes

Anemia occurs when your blood doesn't have enough red blood cells. This can happen if:

Your body doesn't make enough red blood cells

Bleeding causes you to lose red blood cells more quickly than they can be replaced

Your body destroys red blood cells What red blood cells do

Your body makes three types of blood cells — white blood cells to fight infection, platelets to help your blood clot and red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout your body.

Red blood cells contain hemoglobin — an iron-rich protein that gives blood its red color. Hemoglobin enables red blood cells to carry oxygen from your lungs to all parts of your body and to carry carbon dioxide from other parts of the body to your lungs so that it can be exhaled.

(10)

10 Most blood cells, including red blood cells, are produced regularly in your bone marrow — a spongy material found within the cavities of many of your large bones. To produce hemoglobin and red blood cells, your body needs iron, vitamin B-12, folate and other nutrients from the foods you eat. to be cont…
