REFLECTION:
How do you expect the Lord Jesus to treat you when you ask for his help? Do you approach with fear and doubt, or with faith and confidence? Jesus never turned anyone aside who approached him with sincerity and trust. And whatever Jesus did, he did well. He demonstrated both the beauty and goodness of God in his actions.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, make me an instrument of your mercy and peace that I may help others find healing and wholeness in you. Amen

With sincere gratitude to God for the safety and security of all the members of our IS community despite the recent Taal Volcano activity, we once again welcome everyone's physical presence in the campus. Likewise, we would like to express our great appreciation and commendation for our community's manifestation of the spirit of faith, zeal for service, and communion in mission amidst the challenges brought about not only by the volcanic eruption but also by the 2019 Novel Coronavirus, or 2019-nCoV, a new respiratory virus first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China.
Thus, we would like to enjoin everyone to read, understand, and follow the health advisories officially issued by De La Salle Lipa. Let us all be socially responsible to care for our own health and for the health of others by refraining from going to school if we are feverish, have been suffering from upper respiratory tract infection, have travel history from Chinese territory in the past two weeks, or suffering from any communicable diseases or illnesses that weaken our immune system. With our Canvas Learning Management System (for Grades 4-12) and the Brothers' Little Angels webpage (Pre-school to Grade 3), we are assured of up-to-date learning experiences that suit our current contexts and needs. Always prioritize your safety and security over anything else. Rest assured of the utmost compassion,

2019 Novel Coronavirus
Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).
Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people.
A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.
People of all ages can be infected by the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV). Older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease) appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus.
Common signs of infection include:
• respiratory symptoms,
• fever, cough,
• shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.
• In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
WHO’s standard recommendations
• Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water;
• When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – throw tissue away immediately and wash hands;
• Avoid close contact with anyone who has fever and cough;
• Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth;
• If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing seek medical care early and share previous travel history with your health care provider;
• Avoid spitting in public;
• The consumption of raw or undercooked animal products should be avoided. Raw meat, milk or animal organs should be handled with care, to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods, as per good food safety practice.
Wash Your Hands Often to Stay Healthy
You can help yourself and your loved ones stay healthy by washing your hands often, especially during these key times;
• Before and after eating food
• Before, during, and after preparing food
• Before and after treating a cut or wound
• After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
• After using the toilet
• After touching garbage
• After touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste
• After handling pet food or pet treats

9 Follow Five Steps to Wash Your Hands the Right Way
Washing your hands is easy, and it’s one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. Clean hands can stop germs from spreading from one person to another and throughout an entire community—from your home and workplace to childcare facilities and hospitals.
Follow these five steps every time.
1. Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.
4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
5. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.
