THE HOLY GOSPEL (Lk 21:29-33) The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke,

Jesus taught his disciples a lesson. “Consider the fig free and all the other trees. When their buds burst open, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near; in the same way, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Reflections:

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. Jesus is true to His promise, He will never leave us. In the Gospel of St. John, he is saying .…. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Therefore when Jesus said that but my words will not pass away, it is tantamount to saying, I will remain no matter what happened. Our business here on earth is to remain in the love with Jesus and be with Him. As we are hearing to begin the Liturgical calendar with the season of advent, let us be reminded that Jesus should be our priority and we should prepare for His coming not in the last day but in everyday dealings to our fellow human beings for He is present to all of us.

Prayer:

Let us pray,

Loving Father, give us the grace to remain in Your heart. We ask this in Christ’s name. Amen.

St. John Baptist De La Salle…Pray for us!

Live Jesus in our hearts…Forever!

WHY DO CATHOLICS HAVE TO ATTEND SUNDAY MASS?

On the seventh day in the book of Genesis, God created a covenant with man and the seventh day would be put aside for creation to worship her Creator. This is also why God commands us to worship Him, to “keep holy the Sabbath day” in the ten commandments (Exodus 20:8-11). FROM THE OVCAD – INSTITUTIONAL HEALTH SERVICES:

Continuation… Practical Ways to Handle Stress

8. Realize there’s a difference between worrying and caring.

Sometimes, our mindset can boost stress, so a small issue mushrooms into a pile of problems. We continue

worrying, somehow thinking that this is a productive — or at least inevitable — response to stress. But we mistake worry for action.

“Worrying is an attempt to exert control over the future by thinking about it,” whereas caring is taking action.

“When we are caring for someone or something, we do the things that support or advance the best interests of the person or thing that we care about.”

Just this small shift in mindset from worrying to caring can help you adjust your reaction to stress.

9. Embrace mistakes—or at least don’t drown in perfectionism.

Another mindset that can exacerbate stress is perfectionism. Trying to be mistake-free and essentially spending your days walking on eggshells is exhausting and anxiety-provoking. Talk about putting pressure on yourself! And as we all know but tend to forget: Perfectionism is impossible and not human, anyway.
