The study described the factors influencing the evangelical
pastors'spirituality-oriented counseling practices and their immediate effects.
The descriptive statistical methods,specifically tools
such as frequency, percentage and mean distributions, ranking and correlation were employedin
processing the data gathered. Instruments used were a self-made questionnaire by the researcher,the Counseling Orientation Test
adoptedfrom Ed Neukrug, and
unstructured interviews toclarifu
responses. Participants were 108 pastorsof
AngelesCity
and theCity of
San Fernando.Results
of the study show that
pastor-respondents aredominantly
male (67.0T%), married(79.63%),likewise
those agingfrom
31to
50 years (69.45%) and thosewho
haveI to
15 yearsin
pastoralministry (77.78yo). It
also appearsthat
pastors have adequatetraining on spirituality,
however thereis a
needfor
furthertraining in
the areaof
counseling.A
considerable number (42or
38.39%)of
the respondents adopted the humanistic orientationto
counselingfollowed
bycognitive
andbrieflsolution
focused counseling techniques.As to the natwe of
