IPDM Peace Music Video

Eligibility Contest Rules & Mechanics

1. Individuals aged 13-25 years old, residing in Iligan City and Lanao Provinces. Must be a Filipino citizen. Individuals may group themselves for the purpose of producing a music video. But the individuals in the group must meet the above qualifications.

2. Open only to amateurs. Professional musicians, filmmakers, video artists are not eligible to submit entries.

Competition Guidelines

1. An eligible entry should be a 3-5 minutes MUSIC VIDEO production using any digital camera device (i.e. cell phone, iPad, webcam, camcorder, video, etc) in either .MP4 (ipod/psp) or .MPEG format recorded by an individual or a group collaboration (lyricist/s, composer/s, filmmaker/s).

2. Lyrics and content of the music video should be consistent with a theme around the peace process between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

3. Lyrics can be written in English, Tagalog, Visayan, Maranao or in any other dialect used in Mindanao. Entries in a vernacular language must include an English translation written on the lyric sheet.

4. Entries have to be original compositions and have not been part of any songwriting/music video competition, published, recorded, and/or released in the Philippines or abroad. Entries proven such will automatically be disqualified.

5. Any music genre is acceptable, including but not limited to: Pop, Rock, Country, Folk/Alternative, R & B, Soul, Jazz, Rap, World.

6. Submission of music video entries can be done by post (on a DVD) or hand carried to the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao (IPDM), MSU–IIT, Andres Bonifacio Avenue, Tibanga, 9200 Iligan City.

7. Entry is valid upon accomplishment of the ENTRY PACKET completely filled up. Contents are downloadable from the official website of MSU-IIT IPDM http://www.msuiit.edu.ph/ipdm/index.php.

8. All entrants and winners shall retain ownership of their compositions but with specific

provisions. These terms of reference will be documented into a mutual agreement to be signed by both the entrants and MSU-IIT IPDM.

9. Registration is free but DVDs, lyric sheets and all other submitted entry materials will not be returned.

10. Deadline for submission of entry is August 31, 2013.

11. Top 10 finalists will be notified by email or call during the first two weeks of September.

12. Awarding will take place at MSU-IIT on September 20, 2013.
