Index of Affected Charts – Contains the list of all charts affected by Notices to Mariners and the Notice Numbers that affected them. Notices to Mariners - Contains corrections to charts in consecutive numbers indicating the month and year of issue. Temporary and Preliminary Notices – Contains notices to mariners that temporarily affect charts or have preliminary information subject to further verification.
A list of temporary and interim notices still in force, as well as those which have been cancelled, is published in this publication every month. Light List Corrections – Contains the corrections to the latest edition of the Philippine Light List. This section is intended to be cut and pasted onto the section of the light strip that is being corrected.
The visibility assigned to the lights never exceeds the calculated distance at which they can be seen from a height of 4.57 meters above the level of the water at high tide. Sailing Warnings – Contains reprints of all previously issued sailing warnings still in effect as of the publication date of this edition of Philippine Notices to Mariners. Such information is published for the sake of safety of navigation in Philippine waters and does not imply recognition of the legal validity of the information released by the aforementioned sources.
Vessel owners are advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating in Philippine waters due to low visibility and occasional failure of some navigation lights.

Pursuant to this directive, the Quarantine Office shall initiate the following measures with immediate effect. A confirmed laboratory result of the case will begin a 14-day quarantine at anchorage and raise the Lima flag. Position: When a position is defined by sextant angles or bearings (true or magnetic are specified) more than two must be used to provide a check. Latitude and longitude should only be used specifically to position the details when established by astronomical observations or GPS and a full description of the method, equipment and date used should be given. When requested, a new copy will be sent to replace a card used to forward information, or when extended observations have involved tampering with the observer's card.
If it is preferred to show the changes on a tracing of the largest scheme (rather than the map itself), these should be in red as above, but sufficient detail from the scheme should be traced in black ink to enable the changes to be fitted correctly. Where large amounts of bathymetric data have been collected, only those areas where there is a significant difference compared to the current chart or ENC should be specifically noted on H102.
To verify that apparently shallow soundings are not due to echoes received outside the nominal range of the set, soundings should be continued until reasonable agreement with the mapped soundings is achieved. However, soundings received after one or more rotations of the stylus may still be useful and should be submitted if they show significant differences from the mapped depths. Shortcomings should be highlighted and any firm expectation that we can check the information on a subsequent trip should be stated.
